An increase in Social Security benefits is welcome and needed, but it doesn't mean beneficiaries will recover the purchasing power they lost to years of rising prices.

Consumer prices never returned to their 2021 levels. Between January 2021 and January 2025, the Consumer Price Index increased by approximately 21% cumulatively between 2021 and 2025. And prices continue to rise, for beneficiaries affordability remains a serious concern especially when it comes to gas, groceries and energy.

The Social Security Administration is expected to release its 2027 cost-of-living-adjustment on Wednesday after the latest inflation report.

A mother’s well-being matters just as much as her child’s. Research consistently shows that maternal psychological distress is associated with children’s emotional, behavioral, and cognitive development, particularly when distress is severe, persistent, or occurs during sensitive developmental periods.

When mothers feel emotionally supported, mentally healthy, and cared for, they are better equipped to create nurturing environments where their children can thrive.

And let’s not forget: Mothers deserve happiness and well-being for their own sake, not just because it benefits their children.

Apparently, I’m expected to stick around for a while. 😂 My calculated life expectancy: 94 years.

I took the Living to 100 Life Expectancy Calculator, developed by Dr. Thomas Perls, and it was actually fascinating to see how different health, lifestyle, and behavioral factors can influence longevity.

Of course, this is an educational estimate — not a prediction or guarantee — but it’s a good reminder that many of the choices we make throughout life can matter.
