Introducing the Douglas J. Hertz Gymnasium & Sam Asbury Court!

We are proud to honor Doug Hertz, who has dedicated more than 40 years to coaching and mentoring young athletes at NYO. His commitment to our community has helped shape generations of players and families.

Inside the newly renovated Douglas J. Hertz Gymnasium, Sam Asbury Court will honor Sam’s memory, made possible through the generosity of the Sam Asbury Foundation.

These names celebrate the people and legacies that make NYO so special. We can’t wait to welcome our athletes back and see new memories made for generations to come!

“My name is Monty Toye, and like many of the park’s second-born children, I was quite literally born into the Northside Youth Organization. Whether it was being dragged along to my brother’s games or it was my turn to try every sport offered under the sun, the Toye family lived at NYO. I was what we fondly referred to as a ‘park rat,’ playing wallball near Blackwell, starting manhunt games in unused press boxes, and even hiding out in the concession stand with Rachel and Jimmy. At the center of my childhood chaos and living the youthful American Dream, my father, Frank Toye, has been the constant.”

In the latest NYO Sports Report, Monty shares a personal look back at growing up at the park, the memories made along the way, and the people who made NYO feel like home.

A special reminder for Saturday morning at NYO.

Christopher League begins at 9 AM, giving athletes with developmental and physical disabilities the opportunity to play baseball alongside their buddies.

Please help us make sure our Christopher League athletes and families have easy access to the park. Do not park in designated Christopher League parking areas, please follow all parking instructions, and do not drive past any barricades.

Thank you for helping us keep these spaces available and making Saturday morning a great experience for our Christopher League athletes and families.

Congratulations to longtime NYO Board Member Tom Fanning on being named the sole finalist to serve as the next Chancellor of the University System of Georgia!

Throughout his leadership and service, Tom has championed three priorities that are also at the heart of NYO: family, sports and education.

We are incredibly proud to have Tom as part of the NYO family and grateful for his continued commitment to creating opportunities for young people to learn, grow and succeed.

Congratulations, Tom, on this exciting and well-deserved next chapter!

A special night honoring the one and only Coach Ham.

It was incredible to see so many players, families, coaches and friends come together to celebrate a man who has meant so much to NYO and generations of athletes.

Coach Ham’s impact goes far beyond the field. His dedication, leadership and love for this community have left a lasting mark on NYO.

Thank you to everyone who joined us to celebrate Coach Ham and the legacy he continues to build. Once NYO, always NYO.
