Anonymous?
Anonymity can be understood as something much deeper than simply keeping one's identity hidden. It is an invitation to loosen the grip on recognition, achievement, identity, and the need to be seen as important so that something greater can move through us. There is a certain freedom in allowing the message to matter more than the messenger while recognizing that our greatest contribution may not require our name or our importance to be attached to it. Perhaps Grace becomes more fully available when there is less need to make everything about ourselves.
What might become possible if the need to be recognized became less important than the good we are here to offer?

Anonymity — Seeing True
Some years ago, a short while after I entered the rooms of recovery, my spiritual mentor began to speak to me about anonymity. It turns out that anonymity is not at all what I thought.

Punctured
Being punctured can feel painful, humbling, and even unfair, especially when it disrupts the image we hold of ourselves or the certainty we have built around our own importance. Yet the puncturing itself is an expression of Grace, releasing the inflated ego, expectations, and attachments that keep us from seeing ourselves and others clearly. There is beauty in becoming “right-sized”—neither diminishing our worth nor exaggerating our significance, but finding a more honest and grounded place in the world. Sometimes Grace arrives not by building us up, but by helping us get over ourselves so there is more room for something much greater.
What might become possible if the moments that puncture us were received not simply as discomfort, but as Grace inviting us to become more right-sized?

Grace — Seeing True
Grace is often misunderstood. It is not limited to pleasant moments or favorable outcomes. Rather, it is the mysterious presence woven through all of creation - through every aspect of life and living - including what we are quick to label as dark, wrong, or even evil

What To Do With The Idiots?
What if the people who most disturb us are ideal mirrors?
Not because their behavior is acceptable.
Not because we shouldn't have boundaries.
And certainly not because injustice should go unchallenged.
But because our reactions reveal something too.
What if our best path isn't found by getting away from the people and circumstances that disturb us? What if it begins when we become willing to see what is being revealed within us in their presence?
Here's an encore Seeing True reflection: What To Do With The Idiots?
Take what you like. Leave the rest.
And perhaps...look again.

What To Do With The Idiots? — Seeing True
In the vernacular of recovery, whenever we point a finger at someone, there are three pointing back at us. As you and I often discuss, we turn back to our own inner work to see what’s amiss with us.

Expectations and Reality
Much of our suffering comes not from life itself, but from the unconscious expectations we carry about how life, other people, and even we ourselves should be. Expectations create invisible stories in the background that shape our reactions long before reality has a chance to unfold.
When we are disturbed, perhaps we could explore whether our problems are in fact caused by our expectations. That could change everything.

Speaking True: Expectations — Seeing True
The funny thing about expectations is that they reveal themselves when you least expect it. On this episode of "Speaking True," we take a look at how we unknowingly come to feel entitlements, and what to do to release them.

The Way Will Find a Way
Grace often works beyond what we can see and in forms we cannot imagine, inviting us to trust that the way forward is not always something we create, but something we discover.
The Way will find a Way reminds us to remain open—to wisdom, possibility, and the quiet movement of Grace.
Sometimes the path reveals itself because we keep walking. Sometimes because we become still enough to see what was already there.
Perhaps our task is not always to know the way, but to remain receptive, curious, and willing.
The Way will find a Way.

"It is the nature of the world to bruise us ... [and] the same life that wounds and nudges us toward healing, will always provide solutions ... [if] we just say 'yes' to the learning."

Healing from the Inside Out — Seeing True
Regardless of the approach to healing, the magic elixir seems to be the acknowledgment of the wound. Nothing truly changes without first becoming aware of it and then acknowledging its presence. Only then do healing and transformation become possible.

“That upon which we focus, focuses us.”
Beauty becomes us. As does wonder. So too does reverence.
On the other hand, if we are intent on finding grievance, injury or ugliness, we will find it.
**********
Our becoming unfolds quietly through the countless choices we make, the voices we trust, the stories we believe, and the habits we practice every day. Long before we recognize it, our lives begin reflecting what we have consistently allowed to shape us.
What we return to again and again slowly becomes part of us, influencing not only what we do, but who we are. Becoming is not accidental - it is always taking place.
What are we allowing to shape us today, and who is it helping us become?

Becoming — Seeing True
Should we be surprised that we become that in which we immerse ourselves? Every interaction we experience is reflected in the wiring of our brains and throughout our neural systems. Some have said that if you want to make a prediction of how someone’s future will appear, look at the culture, circu...
