TIPS FOR THE TROOPS
Week 1: Don't Hit Cancel

Life happens. Duty calls, the truck breaks down, the family calls an audible. You're registered for a VGA Virginia event and now you can't make it.

Here is the one move that protects your $20.

Contact your Tournament Director. Do not cancel your registration in Golf Genius.

Your $20 VGA registration fee is nonrefundable. It is transferable. Reach out to the VGA leader running the event before registration closes and we move that $20 to another event in the same season. Your money stays in the game.

The moment you cancel your own registration inside Golf Genius, that ability disappears. The system releases it. Your director cannot transfer what the platform has already let go, and the $20 is gone for good.

Three things to lock in:

1️⃣ Reach out BEFORE registration closes. Once it closes, the fee is forfeited.
2️⃣ One transfer per registration fee. Use it wisely.
3️⃣ Prepaid events, State Championships, and Regional Championships are nonrefundable and nontransferable.

Thirty seconds of communication saves you twenty dollars. Your Tournament Director would rather get your text than see an empty cart on the first tee.

Got a rule question? Send it to [email protected] and it may show up in a future Tips for the Troops.

A great day for VGA Georgia at our first event at Fields Ferry Golf Club!

We had 30 players tee it up for the day, and Mother Nature decided to keep things interesting. 🌧️☀️ We had rain on the way in, a little rain during the round, and even some sunshine mixed in-but overall, it turned into a great day of golf.

Fields Ferry was in excellent condition and received plenty of compliments from our players. The greens were rolling well, the fairways had plenty of grass, and the course provided a fun test for everyone.

A big thank you to Eric Stewart and the entire Fields Ferry staff for welcoming VGA Georgia and helping make our first visit a success. We appreciate the hospitality!
