We are pleased to be welcoming Jenn Logan Jenn Logan to the studio in October for a special Dance Trapeze Choreography workshop. Jenn is an aerialist, instructor, designer, and choreographer with a deep passion for the intersection of movement and visual arts. With her background in dance and design, she brings a unique disciplinary approach to movement on and off the ground. She is a founding member, resident choreographer and Executive Director of the Nancy Evans Dance Theatre in Pasadena, CA. She also teaches dance trapeze in Los Angeles at Womack and Boman’s The Loft and The Aerial House and is performing in Jacksonville Dance Theater’s Circo del Pantano on October 25th. AcroFit is back for a Handstand Intensive this fall at the JBAA studio! If mastering handstands is on your goal list- these workshops are for you! This 2-part event, coming on 10/3 and 10/17, has 2 workshop dates and students have options based on their skill level and goals. Level 1 Foundations will focus on practicing and building your base handstand skills, while Level 2 will build you up to dynamic shapes and transitions in your handstand. The full Intensive will offer both Level 1 & Level 2 workshops PLUS a 15-minute private consult for individualized evaluation and recommendations for your skill set. Master your handstands in 2026 with a dedicated Intensive that takes you from floundering in the air to solid and secure with professional instruction and private consultation. Posting our latest schedule which starts in September for your convenience- please check it out to get the most up to date info on classes! We have a few adjustments to our weekly schedule coming up. We have our fall youth classes starting in September for Circus After School and Homeschool Aerial, both available for registrations now on our website. To accommodate those schedules, Thursday Open Aerial is moving to Wednesdays at 4:30. We will still have Open this upcoming Thursday 9/27 at the same time. Please remember to sign up for your classes in advance so that we can ensure classes run with the minimum 2 participants and our instructors can plan for their classes. Thank you and we’ll see you in the studio!

Please welcome our newest instructor to the JBAA team, Isabel Lane, known to many as Belle! Isabel has been a part of the JBAA community for years now, and has been helping to sub classes for our instructors for several months. We are thrilled to have her join us as a regular instructor to lead our Circus After School program, as well as to continue to support our silks and contortion programs. Belle began her circus career in 2021 in Ft. Myers before moving to Jacksonville for grad school. Her movement background started in classical ballet before falling in love with silks and contortion. At JBAA, she has further expanded her skill set to Lyra, and has had opportunities to perform with circus troupes and entertainment companies across Florida. Isabel has performed with JBAA in many of our showcases and community performances, all while pursuing her masters in biology at UNF. We look forward to seeing her more in the studio as she helps us grow our youth aerial programs with a multi-apparatus circus skill set!

Enrollment starts now for our 8-week fall session of our Homeschool Aerial class and classes start September 11th! This class will feature multiple apparatuses so students will get to learn skills on all of our main apparatus options. Set at a time for homeschooling families, students will learn body awareness, build strength and flexibility, and build community with other students and families. Workshop Alert!! Who wants to experience Orbiting on Lyra? The good news is that we have a GREAT space for this kind of skills practice, and Coach Priscilla Priscilla A. Tapia is ready to show you how to really experience the expansive spins of Lyra Orbits. Orbiting involves using the entire space of a rigging point to expand your flow throughout the full range of motion in the air. This is not usually offered in classes where all rigging points are being used. To accommodate this special skill, we are limiting participants to 6 per workshop, and offering two different dates for your scheduling convenience. Sign up soon as spots will be limited! Workshops will be 90-minutes and $45. Registration is open on our website!

June Schedule is about to drop! And speaking of drops- we have some on the menu…. Join Coach Lexis for this 3-part series on Hammock Drops! On select Wednesdays at 4:45 PM in June, Lexis .aerialist.lex will be leading a limited series on hammock drops for our hammock/sling enthusiasts. Book classes with your regular class packs or memberships and learn a selection of drop techniques on this popular apparatus!

And now… time for a shout out to these two absolute rock stars! These two instructors , Ali & Kylie were the unsung heroines of our recent showcase! They totally handled all of our rigging and set changes across 19 acts, and made sure that all the performances had their apparatus and other act details attended to throughout the whole show. They worked their tails off for the whole night, and we could not have pulled off the show without them! Give it up for these two ladies!! 🙌🏼🫶🏻🙌🏼

Our special summer course in Harness Dance starts this upcoming weekend with Rebecca R. Levy ! We have just a few spots left, so if you’re the last minute type, now is your chance to grab one of those spots. This 4-week course will give you the opportunity to really explore a new type of movement in the air, led by an experienced aerialist and dance instructor from FSCJ. If this is something you’ve been wanting to try, join us for this special series! Sign-ups are available on our website and app.
