A heavy loss for surf culture 🌊

Larry "Rubberman" Bertlemann has passed at 71.

In the 1970s he redefined what was physically possible on a board: the ultra low compressed stance, hand drags, elastic carving that built modern high performance surfing.

The Dogtown Z-Boys took his style to the concrete and named their slide turns Berts.

He was decades ahead of his time, and his legacy lives in every progressive surfer.

Rest in love, memories and May the Waves Roll for you Rubberman 🤙

We just wrapped up another epic and successful week at Ventnor Surf School! Big thanks to all our awesome students for shredding waves and bringing the stoke.

Morse was the youngest of the women's finalists and she left it until her last wave with less than a minute remaining to score a 6.93 and jump from fourth to first.
