Construction work has started at Carnes Rec Center. There is no parking allowed in the construction zone. We are asking you to park in the regular parking lot and walk behind the tennis courts if you are going to the girls softball field.

🎾THE CITY OF ATTALLA BREAKS GROUND ON NEW TENNIS COURTS AND PICKLE BALL COURTS 🏓

The City of Attalla officially broke ground today on an exciting new addition to our community-new tennis courts and pickle ball courts. The project was made possible through a Land and water Conservation Fund grant and awarded to Bedwell and Whorton Construction. The project will include 2 new tennis courts and 4 new pickle ball courts and lighting. The new tennis courts will provide EHS Tennis Team with the opportunity to host tournaments right here in our community. The addition of pickle ball courts will also bring a new recreational opportunity to Attalla. Pickle Ball continues to grow in popularity with many players participating weekly at Carnes Rec Center.

Mayor Means, The City Council, City Engineer Jason Nicholson and Parks and Rec Director Scott Parrish are proud to see the project officially come to life and look forward to providing these new recreational opportunities for the citizens of Attalla and surrounding communities.

The future of the rec department in Attalla is looking bright.

The Attalla Parks and Rec Department would like to spotlight the Hokesbluff Cheerleaders this week!! The department thanks you for taking the time to pick up the trash.

A huge shoutout to the Hokes Bluff Cheerleaders! 📣🤩

At the end of the game, their squad took the time to clean up and pick up trash on the visitor side of Jim Glover Field. That may seem like a small act, but it speaks volumes about the character, leadership, and sportsmanship of those young ladies. 👏

Thank you all so much! We truly appreciate you and the respect you showed for our school and stadium. A special shoutout to their coach as well for leading such an amazing group of girls! ❤️
