Growing up, I never remember hearing about a class I should of taken that teaches me how to deal with the loss of a friend. It never gets easier, seems like it gets harder and harder. This morning I got a phone call from a friends wife, and she told me he passed away, and I just talked to him last week. I hate news like this, make sure you keep in touch with your friends, you just never know when it might be the last conversation. Now, go work on your motorcycle, because doing stuff we love makes the pain of loosing someone a little easier...

most of my shop work gets done in the spring and fall. It rains alot here in the winter and spring, and even yesterday morning we had a light dusting of hail/snow..it was 47* for the hi temp. The shop will be getting additional insulation soon, so that will extend when I work on projects. I DID however manage to get my tires mounted on a 76 yz125x I am assembling from boxes. Its been a hard one to source parts for, so much mis information due to the fact Yamaha made 2 different bikes in 76. The C, and the X model. Different carbs, cylinders, forks, ignitions, clutch baskets, shift drums, rear wheel hubs, swingarms....just to mention a few of the differences. I keep hoping to have a break out build season and finish up several, mostly finished bikes. But the current fuel costs, limit who the potential buyer pool could be, so I havent even attempted any sales in the past few yrs...BUT, here's where I am at on this 125x.

no shop work today, too much snow, and the building is hard to heat when the hi temp for the day is 35*....headed to the semi annual Seattle Toy Show tomorrow. Great way to spend 7 bucks and look at stuff I dont need...but sometimes come home with anyway.

One of my current projects, is this 1976 yz125x. I bought it in boxes about 40 months ago, and it was rough...and missing a lot of parts. Sadly, I didnt just jump on getting what I needed, since these days its getting harder, and more expensive to find the missing pieces. But, its this far along now, next up will be to find, or fabricate a tool to remove the threaded nuts that hold the fork seals in, and build a set of wheels...slowly but surely its coming back to life. I am currently waiting on a few parts, like stickers for the air cannisters on top of the fork legs.

I got asked about 1978 chain roller parts the other day. One yr only swingarm on the 125 and 250/400 with the spring loaded tensioner. This is what I sell currently for that combo.
