Auburn University IHSA Western Team

Tryouts last week were a success! So excited for this new team! 🎉🐴💙🧡

Coach Kaitlyn has been working with horses for 17 years. She began riding at age 5 and has shown extensively, starting in various Open show circuits of Michigan and competing local APHA and APtHA events in the all-around competition. She also competed at the Michigan Youth Show and Michigan Open Horse Show Championships as both a team rider as well as an Individual rider. Kaitlyn and her family have leased many horses over the course of her competing career with various levels of training.
Kaitlyn graduated from Auburn University in 2026 with a B.S. in Organismal Biology and a minor in Business Management.
While a student at Auburn, she was a riding member of our team all four years. She competed in Rookie Horsemenship, Level 2 Horsemenship, Open Horsemenship, Ranch Riding, and Reining over the course of 3 years. For the 2024-2025 and 2025-2026 academic years she was elected to be president of the team. She worked closely with Coach Dorsey and the elected executive board to lead the team in competitions, practices, and other team events.
Kaitlyn is currently the Assistant coach of the Western IHSA club team.
