We are a Martial Arts school, instructing and specializing in Isshinryu Karate as was taught by founder Tatsuo Shimabuku. We have been a leading force in the Pacific Northwest Martial Arts community for over forty years. A notice to all members and interested parties:
A unanimous decision was recently reached by the board of directors and attending members to permanently close WIS (Washington Isshinryu Society).
In combination with the Covid-19 outbreak and Sensei George Shin’s advanced age and health issues, the decision was reached to dissolve the organization allowing Sensei Shin to retire.
Sensei Shin is doing fine and is in good spirits while enjoying a little slower paced life style.
Aside from this decision, we are encouraging you all to continue active participation in the varied martial arts disciplines and events.
Sensei Shin appreciated your support through the years. Thank you!
