The Portland Sea Dogs will host Women in Sports Night on Friday, August 21, bringing together athletes and industry leaders for an evening celebrating women making an impact across Maine sports and beyond.
Before the game, fans can hear from a Women in Sports panel featuring Sea Dogs broadcaster Emma Tiedemann, Strong Girls United founder Lani Silversides, Olympic medalist Jennifer Kessy, and University of Maine track & field athlete Maddie Chaput.
And there's another reason to arrive early: the first 1,000 fans will receive an Emma Tiedemann talking bobblehead, celebrating one of only two female broadcasters currently working in Minor League Baseball.
Here's to the women competing, leading, broadcasting, and creating opportunities throughout the sports community.

A first for the Maine Sports Commission, and an important investment in the future of sports tourism in Maine.
Nine sporting events across the state will share more than $25,000 in marketing support through the Maine Sports Commission's first-ever sports grant program.
From pond hockey and trail running to triathlon, motocross, skijoring, adaptive sports, swimming, and disc golf, these events bring athletes and spectators into Maine communities while supporting local businesses and showcasing the state as a four-season sports destination.
We've seen what that impact can look like. IRONMAN 70.3 Maine alone generated a record $7.3 million in economic impact in 2025.
These grants will give organizers additional resources to reach new audiences, strengthen their events, and continue building the experiences that make athletes want to compete in Maine.
Congratulations to our inaugural grant recipients. We're proud to invest in the people and organizations growing sports across our state.

$25K in marketing grants awarded to nine Maine sporting events Organizers of nine sporting events across the state will use Maine Sports Commission grants for marketing efforts designed to expand audiences and boost visitor spending.
