The mission of the Maine Sports Commission is to raise awareness to promote Maine as a four-season destination for sporting events, activities, and meetings. Maine Sports Commission will create economic impact throughout the state by attracting new events to Maine and by providing existing events with marketing and event support, with a focus on wellness, education and advocacy.

From Portland to the Stanley Cup.

Former Maine Mariners goaltender Brandon Bussi became the first alumnus in franchise history to win a Stanley Cup, helping the Carolina Hurricanes capture the championship with a 22-save shutout in the deciding game.

Moments like this are a reminder that great athletes, teams, and sports communities can come from anywhere. Maine has a proud history of helping athletes grow, compete, and achieve at the highest levels.

Congratulations to Brandon, the Maine Mariners, and everyone who played a role in this incredible journey.

🏆 Hockey's biggest prize now has another Maine connection.

Since 1985, cyclists have been 'trekking across Maine' to raise money for the American Lung Association of Maine.

Each year, the Trek Across Maine raises between $1M and $1.5M for those affected by lung cancer and to further research.

Registration is now closed, but you can still support the event through online donations, volunteering, or simply cheering the riders along their routes.
