Referees are an essential part of our game. Like our players and coaches, they deserve an environment where they can participate, learn, and perform without being subjected to abusive behavior.
Games are competitive, emotions can run high, and we won't always agree with every call. How we respond in those moments matters.
Over the coming months, we'll be sharing information from U.S. Soccer's Referee Abuse Prevention Policy to help our players, coaches and families better understand what crosses the line and the role we all play in creating a positive game day environment.
Nationals families, watch your email today for “Respect the Game. Respect the Referee.” It’s the first in a series of messages we'll be sharing throughout the season to help all of us create a positive game day environment.
