Regrettably, FLMSL does not have a start date as we are still navigating the many state and local safety laws, restrictions, rules and regulations with which we must comply in order to play this Spring.
The State’s decision to permit recreation activities does not mean that their risk has changed. It cannot be predicted who will become severely ill nor are the long-term complications of this virus fully understood. As such, FLMSL cannot in good conscious return to play as we have in the past.
Unfortunately, regardless of our start date, the need to daily assess community risk, implement strategies that reduce spread, maintain healthy environments and operations, as well as the strategies needed should someone get sick require manpower and resources the league simply does not currently have.
To meet the mandatory requirements of return to play requires a time commitment that is unsustainable when paired with the challenges the league volunteers continue to face in the workplace and at home.
That being said, the situation continues to change by the days and weeks. Should requirements and risk lessen, we remain hopeful with regard to a late summer or fall program.
In the meantime, Cato Youth Soccer is offering programs beginning in May. Their program form, flyer, safety guidance and hold harmless waiver can be accessed through their website…www.catosoccer.com
FLMSL is happy to provide those forms, answer any questions you may have or help out if you would like to sign up to play in Cato. Email Heather at [email protected] with any requests.
Stay well and hope to see you on the fields soon!

In response to the extended social distancing protocols, information from NYSWYSA as well as the new state of emergency in Throop, FLMSL has made the difficult decision to suspend this year's soccer season. ☹ Beyond player health and safety, we cannot responsibly hold on to registration fees during this economic crisis. We will not be depositing any checks we have received and anyone who registered online will receive a full refund of all fees mailed by Friday. All check payments will be returned the week of April 6th. We are hoping to put together a "Summer Fun" program to begin in mid to late June that will not have playoffs but still give our players the chance to play at a reduced fee and possibly even for free. We will keep you posted. Stay safe and stay well and we will hope to see you on the fields this summer!! ⚽️⚽️⚽️
There will be no registration this weekend at Champions For Life or next weekend at The Port Byron Library. Both locations are closed per the COVID-19 social distancing protocols.
We are proceeding under the assumption that we will have a soccer season. Please register electronically on the website or email [email protected] if you would like a form mailed to you.
We will make a final determination regarding the season on April 24th depending on recommendations from NYSW as well as the local, state and federal government. If the season is cancelled on the 24th, all registrations and sponsorships will be refunded.
Stay well everyone!
Registration is now available through the website! https://clubs.bluesombrero.com/fingerlakessoccer
