Coach Albert ran class tonight with “Coach in training” Marissa on mitts🥊 They kept class running smooth while Coach Dave was out for the evening.

We have to give a big shout out to one young man who wasn’t in the videos by request but has been appointed the new nickname “Juggernaut.” Apparently he can take a mean body shot and will walk you down asking for more lol.

It’s the first week of September and the last month of Boxing in the Park. Come Join us during our campaign to save our gym and find a location for the winter and beyond. We have Class all week and the coaches and I took time to make sure the last month had the most equipment and quality of boxing we could provide. 5:30 - 6:30pm at Casey Park behind the elementary school

Albert Hughes started with us back in the ymca days and found his way back at our last location and has stuck with us ever since. This year he had his first amateur bout, started coaching and on top of all that became a USA Boxing official as well. The kids absolutely adore him as Coach Albert and he’s definitely the good cop to Coach Dave’s bad cop lol. We are lucky to have him at Prison City and USA Boxing as a whole!

Marissa Wendt Started boxing earlier in the year as an outlet for stress and a way to get active. Since then she has dove in head first to the crazy world of boxing. She has gone to both her first amateur and professional fights this year, signed up as an Official with USA Boxing , training extra to eventually coach and has invested so much of her time to our boxing program. Thank you for all the hard work you do in front of and behind the scenes🥊🥊🥊

This young man has been coming since last year and has been a regular ever since. He comes in with a wonderful attitude and is always ready to work. He deserves a shout out this week because everything seemed to click and really come together for him. We love having him in class and are so proud of his progress🥊🥊🥊

The kids have been taking over class this week and showing their parents how its done🥊 I’m so impressed with how dedicated these young students of mine are to the sport and how well they listen. Huge thanks to my assistant coaches this week for help on the mitts, stations and keeping everything flowing smooth🥊🥊🥊

We’re back for 4 days a week! Monday - Thursday at 5:30pm at Casey Park. We’re hoping to gain some more attention and hopefully secure a space for the winter months.
