The Art of Belonging ✨🙏🏼🎨

06/10/2026

One of the things I love most about Downtown Yoga & Healing Arts is that it gives us opportunities to support and celebrate the people who make our community so special.

This week, Caroline from Creative Works stopped by to install a fresh collection of artwork from YES Art Maine artists that will be displayed throughout the studio this month.

These artists remind us that creativity belongs to everyone. Through programs like YES Art Maine, individuals with disabilities are given opportunities to express themselves, share their gifts, and contribute their unique voices through art.

As you visit the studio this month, I hope you’ll take a few moments to explore the artwork, read the artist stories, and appreciate the incredible talent behind each piece.

Thank you to Caroline, Creative Works, and the YES Art Maine artists for helping us fill our space with creativity, connection, and belonging. 🤍

P.S. We believe yoga studios can be more than places to practice—they can be places that help build stronger communities. If that resonates with you, we’d love your support in Down East Best of Maine voting. 🤍 link in bio

🤍 Connection & Community 🤍

One of the things we believe most deeply at Downtown Yoga & Healing Arts is that wellness doesn’t happen in isolation. It happens in CommUNITY. It happens when people gather, support one another, and create spaces where everyone feels like they belong.

That’s why we are so excited to partner with The Village.

The Village has created something truly special in our community — a place where children can play, families can connect, and parents can find support and friendship along the journey of raising little humans.

Today at 10:00 AM, we’re honored to bring Family-Friendly Yoga to their space for the very first time.

Whether your child wants to wiggle, stretch, balance, laugh, or simply spend time moving with you, this class is all about connection, play, and sharing the joy of yoga together.

We are grateful for opportunities like this that remind us that community is strongest when we come together and support one another.

Thank you to The Village for welcoming us into your beautiful space. We can’t wait to see where this partnership grows.

See you at 10:00 AM. 🤍

Tomorrow | Sivananda Classic 90

There is something powerful about gathering before the busyness of the week begins.

For 90 minutes, we step away from the noise and return to what matters: breath, movement, stillness, and community.

Tomorrow we begin exploring June’s virtue: Magnanimity—often described as greatness of heart. The ability to respond with generosity, understanding, and openness even when life invites us to become small.

Not as philosophy.

As practice.

Join me Sunday from 9:00–10:30 AM for Sivananda Classic as we continue our journey through Swami Sivananda’s teachings on cultivating virtue in daily life.

No need to have attended previous months. Simply come as you are.

Today, Caroline from Creative Works stopped by to refresh the artwork displayed throughout the studio for the remainder of the month. (All for sale)

Each piece is created by talented Maine artists participating in the YES Art Maine program—a Creative Works initiative that empowers individuals with disabilities to express themselves, share their gifts, and contribute to their communities through art.

One of the things we love most about having this artwork in the studio is that it reminds us that creativity belongs to everyone.

As you move through the space this month, take a moment to slow down and really look. Every piece tells a story. Every artist has a voice. Every person belongs.

Jai Ma! ☀️ Summer has officially arrived.

As I sit in the sun this morning, coffee in hand and listening to Girish, I felt called to share this beautiful message because it feels deeply needed right now.

This chant is particularly beautiful because it isn’t asking for anything personal. It’s a universal blessing—a prayer that the harmony already present in creation be recognized everywhere.

And honestly, it’s needed.

A blessing for the earth. A blessing for the sky, sun, and moon. A blessing for all living beings. A blessing for the body, the mind, and the soul.

Because peace doesn’t start somewhere out there. It starts in our own hearts. And from there, it ripples outward into our families, our communities, and the world.

Give it a listen.

Join us June 17 as we welcome Girish to Downtown Yoga & Healing Arts for an evening of breath, mantra, music, connection, and community.

🤍
Sarva Maṅgalam Bhavatu.
May all be blessed.
