Southern Appalachian Wrestling is heartbroken to share the loss of one of our own, Hillbilly Joe.
Joe was so much more than a wrestler. He was a wonderful person, a great brother in wrestling, a devoted husband and father, and most of all, a true friend to everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
Anyone who ever shared a locker room, a conversation, a laugh, or a moment with Joe knew the kind of person he was. He had a way of making people feel welcome, and he carried a kindness and warmth that will never be forgotten.
In wrestling, we often call each other brothers, but Joe truly lived that word. He was someone you could count on, someone you were always glad to see walk through the door, and someone whose presence made the room better.
There are no words that can fully express how much he will be missed.
From all of us at Southern Appalachian Wrestling, we ask everyone to please keep Joe’s wife, children, family, friends, and loved ones in your prayers during this incredibly difficult time.
Rest easy, Hillbilly Joe. Thank you for the memories, the friendship, the laughs, and for being a brother to us all.
You may be gone from our sight, but you will never be gone from our hearts.
