Annnnd… THAT’S a wrap! 😄🙌🏻💦
Our 9th Annual was successfully(?IYKYK?) launched this past Saturday, and it’s taken me a couple of days to jump on here and say a few words. To narrow down my thoughts to anything less than a book seems impossible, so I must admit, I don’t have much more to say RIGHT NOW, except… THANK YOU!🫶🏻
The crowd this event draws is THE BEST of THE BEST as far as I’m concerned. The spirit, the joy, the courage, and the stamina is beyond INSPIRING!🏄‍♀️🚲🏃❤️

While I don’t have ALL pics in yet, my friend and pro photographer, Barney Tull, will be sharing MANY more than these few I have for you now, soon!

A break down of more detailed thoughts in a few days. I’m still recovering from the overwhelming gratitude and love I feel for ALL of YOU who showed up, and SHINED!🥰

This is the WHY!🙌🏻
This year's charity is Girls on the Run Heart of Kansas and their motto...
Inspire Potential! What an amazing message they give to all their girls!

They teach essential life skills as the cornerstone of their research-based programs. Trained volunteer coaches facilitate lessons that blend physical activity with life skill development, including managing emotions, fostering friendships, and expressing empathy.

Not only does this inspire potential, but it also unlocks power in each of the girls who participate. None of this is possible without volunteers and donations to keep the program, literally... RUNNING! 🏃🏻‍♀️🥰

Thanks to each and every one of you for joining us this year in supporting the GOTR organization and inspiring others to get out and do the same.

And thank you GOTR, for allowing us to learn more about you and being at this year's event, supporting US! What a blessing!

Oof!! We're watching the weather every hour as the day draws near. 🥹
This race WILL happen rain OR shine... but NOT lightning!⚡
We have never had this be an issue in the past, but please know, I take the safety of ALL our participants, staff, and volunteers, VERY seriously and am working to monitor conditions as closely as possible.
At this point these are our thoughts/plans...
1️⃣ The race kicks off as planned and the weather forecast proves to be wrong (we pray!)????
2️⃣ We start the race as planned, monitor the conditions and possibly have to pause, shelter, and wait for conditions to improve before safely resuming.
3️⃣ We delay the start time by no more than 2 hours, praying the timing of all threatening weather subsides quickly and we can get on with our fun!
4️⃣ We cancel IF conditions are not safe for ALL involved, including participants, volunteers, and staff.😢
While I'd love to simply push this off a week or 2, a lot will have to take place for this to happen, including: city permits, event insurance purchased (a second time), volunteers & staff commitments, etc.
This option will only be possible IF all the chips fall perfectly into place.
We are NOT ruling it out completely, but please know this may not happen.🙏

Again, know we take your safety very seriously and have been praying about this and monitoring the situation continuously.

Thanks for your patience and we will do what we can to make a decision in a timely manner so you and your family can make plans accordingly.

We hope to have a start time determined by Friday morning, Sept 11, once we are within a 24 hr window.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we make the best of this crazy Kansas weather!

This is our 2nd year to be beneficiaries of M&J's generosity at P2G. They are providing a fresh carafe of coffee for our morning crew along with a few morning pastries. We will have a special guest again this year, Tater Tot! 🐶 He ran the entire race several years ago in Winfield with his human, Kevin, and nailed it! At FFF, we love our fur babies as families and welcome them to join us in as many activities as we possibly can. But sometimes they need a day of play or a place to stay safely when we travel, and our fur baby, SirFin, has a second home for this. The Dog Barn!
They truly love him as we do, and when he goes for a day of play, he always comes home... BARN TIRED! 😅🐾
