They are dedicated to their health and wellness and refuse to let age define them! Don’t be afraid to give it a try. Any movement is better than no movement.

Chloe came to us as a post-collegiate athlete looking to continue feeding her competitive spirit and my goodness did she soar! This girl has developed into a machine and we are so proud to call her ours. She’s moving on to a new chapter in her life and career but she will always have a home here with us 🫶🏼🫶🏼 we love you, Chlo!!!

Hey hey, it’s Friday and the last weekend before we officially kickoff summer! Let’s shine some light on our rockstar Athlete of the Month! John is a dedicated 6AM athlete and is an absolute legend at prioritizing his health and fitness all while being a husband, father, and business owner! Check out what he had to say about his CrossFit journey:
1. Home town and age: I am 36 years old and my home town is Augusta, GA
2. How long have you been doing CrossFit? I started CrossFit in 2012, took a break for a few years when life got busy and then most recently started again in Jan. 2023.
3. What kept you coming back when you first started? I enjoyed the challenge that each workout provided and also the ability to push myself within my own limits. I love the combination of lifting and cardio that most workouts provide.
4. Favorite movement? I would have to pick sn**ch.
5. Favorite workout so far? Anything that involves running!
6. Least favorite movement? I CANNOT stand thrusters lol.
7. Workout that hurt the most? Murph always hurts the most.
8. Why do you commit to CrossFit every day? What’s your “why”? Maintaining a certain level of fitness is my main reason, also, exercise is one of the best ways to promote overall health.

Please note the holiday class schedule for Monday, May 25. We will run two classes only for Murph. The YMCA will be open from 7-5 on Memorial Day. We hope you’ll join us as we honor the memory and sacrifices of Lt. Michael Murphy and the many other fallen soldiers who have given their lives in service to others.

CrossFit is COMMUNITY. There’s no better way to stay accountable in your fitness journey than to surround yourself with like-minded, supportive people who cheer for you in the gym on a random Tuesday, at a CrossFit competition, on the field, off the field, and in your every day trials and tribulations. If you don’t have this in your life, do everything you can to get it. We spent the morning outside the walls of the gym playing kickball and bonding in teamwork. Happy Saturday!

Remember, no matter your fitness level, everyone can participate in Murph. If this is your first time, talk with your coach about the best way to approach it!
