It’s time parents starting next week Monday’s and Wednesday’s we start conditioning. Speed and agility work 6:30pm at MTAG Sports Complex - More Than A Game all the boys needs are shorts, tennis shoes and water bottles

This Saturday 11am-3pm we will have another mass registration day at Academy Sports. It’s also a great time for you to price shoulder pads and helmets if you don’t already have them.

The season is fast Ly approaching and we’re gearing up to start our preseason training.

New Travel Football Organization launching
Ages 6-14 each individual age group

MTAG Elite Professionals

With joy, I am honored to announce that we are starting our own travel youth football organization for ages 6-14; which starts after our upcoming championship driven 7v7 season. Introducing The MTAG Elite Professionals. We’ve chosen the name Professionals to celebrate the fact that, whether you chose to continue your career in sports, or not, our program will help you learn pivotal life skills to help you excel in any profession. We want to shine light on this simple fact and help athletes along each of their individual journeys.

We are here to help balance the scales—moving away from the bad representation of sports politics , coaches egos and shifting the focus to the player. With player development as our main objective, we will launch football academies prior to the start of the season to break down the fundamentals and teach the organization as a whole by positions and not as separate teams before we ever practice plays. One of the greatest grievances in youth sports are coaches who yell but fail to teach. The expectations that every kid knows how to play when they step on the field is baffling. It is fair to say that a child will be afraid to tackle if never taught properly and that drills on the first day of pads like Oklahoma are more detrimental than effective. With the help of former and current professional football players, collegiate players, and well trained coaches, we will be able to teach athletes the sport in the most wholistic way possible.

Our coaches will be required to attend a training seminar, complete mentorship courses, and pass a background/finger print check. We want want to ensure the best and most qualified mentors are helping to mold your child into the athlete they are destined to be.

We will also be including our “How To Be A Gentleman” class to our program to help create gentleman outside of the playing field.

Additionally, we will be doing quarterly grade checks. We cannot stress enough — being a student comes before athlete. We also look to implement programs where students can job shadow business professionals who are working in their fields of interest.

As for some housekeeping rules, we do teach discipline across the board. Our expectations is players address the team coaches , their parents and staff with “Yes Coach,” Yes Mam,” or “Yes Sir”

Lastly, we promise to always bring our best foot forward and ensure the coaches can teach the ins and outs of the game. Our goal is to properly introduce the game to athletes effectively and efficiently, practice safe tactics, and to push every child to become the best version of themselves that they can be.

With that said, let us not forget that this is a GAME and should always be fun for the athletes and their parents. Let’s get rid of the speaker’s blaring songs like “get it back in blood” and bring the old school mantra “let the pads do the talking” back to youth football…
