A little about me.

I’m either 100% in or 0%

I’m super emotional and cry easily from happy emotion.

Today, I received this note (I haven’t shared the cookies yet, but attached one photo here)

I lived in Tahoe in 2017/2018 and met some wonderful people there.

A few months ago I received an order to ship to Tahoe that they would then bring up to Alaska with them to Shelter Lodge.

The cookies came out incredible (in my opinion), but the message I received this morning meant everything.

As a small business owner, putting your name, reputation and business on the line for a cause can be scary. In honesty, I didn’t think twice.

I believe wholeheartedly in womens rights for me, my daughter, my neighbor, my friends and womankind. This is not a political matter, it’s a human rights movement.

Thank you for all of your support today and always.

Your support does mean the world to me.

Remember all those halibut and arrowtooth flounder stomachs we collected? Here’s why! Just doing our part to help understand and possibly improve/save our fisheries.

Pacific halibut and arrowtooth flounder have a reputation for being voracious predators and may compete with each other for food and space. Our new research, led by Cheryl Barnes, helps us better understand how these large, toothy flatfish coexist. Arrowtooth flounder have very large mouths and are able to eat the same types of food as smaller-sized Pacific halibut. But once halibut grow larger, they may have an advantage when foraging due to their size and strength. While these predators might not earn a gold star for sharing, their different strategies for success mean that they both get a seat at the snack table.

Our enormous gratitude goes to the captains at Shelter Lodge and Anchor Point Lodge, who provided more than 2,000 fish stomachs for the project!
