Game Goes Down To The Wire As Illinois Hawks Collegiate Loses To Crystal Lake Cardinals On Final Pla

Illinois Hawks Collegiate fell to Crystal Lake Cardinals 10-9 on Saturday at Community Park on the final play of the game. The game was tied at nine in the bottom of the ninth when Deegan hit a solo home run to left field.

Despite the loss, Illinois Hawks Collegiate did collect nine hits in the high-scoring affair. Unfortunately, Crystal Lake Cardinals had three hits on the way to victory.

Crystal Lake Cardinals got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Illinois Hawks Collegiate committed an error, and Morsala was struck by a pitch, each scoring one run.

Illinois Hawks Collegiate jumped back into the lead in the top of the third inning after Tyler Kostro doubled to right field, and Juan Carrillo singled to center field, each scoring two runs.

Illinois Hawks Collegiate scored five runs on two hits in the top of the fourth inning. Josh Colaizzi singled, scoring one run, Jacob Cronshaw doubled, scoring two runs, Alexander Zielinski was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, and Breeden induced Eric Lowri to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored.

Crystal Lake Cardinals scored five runs on zero hits in the bottom of the fifth inning. An error scored one run, Morsala was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, an error scored one run, and an error scored two runs.

Lutz singled to center field following a 7-pitch at-bat, which helped Crystal Lake Cardinals tie the game at nine in the bottom of the sixth.

Kyle Koerner led things off on the bump for Illinois Hawks Collegiate. The righty surrendered one hit and two runs (zero earned) over three innings, striking out two and walking three. Krichoff led things off on the bump for Crystal Lake Cardinals. The hurler surrendered four hits and four runs over three innings, striking out five and walking one.

Illinois Hawks Collegiate accumulated nine hits in the game. Leadoff hitter Colaizzi led Illinois Hawks Collegiate with two hits in five at bats. Carrillo, Kostro, and Cronshaw each drove in two runs for Illinois Hawks Collegiate. Illinois Hawks Collegiate stole four bases in the game. Illinois Hawks Collegiate turned one double play in the game.

Lutz, Winkelman, and Deegan each collected one hit for Crystal Lake Cardinals. Lutz, Deegan, Morsala, and Donze each drove in one run for Crystal Lake Cardinals. Skwarek led Crystal Lake Cardinals with three walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, piling up six walks for the game. Crystal Lake Cardinals turned one double play in the game.

Addison Braves (CSBL) Fall To Illinois Hawks Collegiate

Illinois Hawks Collegiate opened the scoring in the top of the first thanks to two fielder's choices. Illinois Hawks Collegiate first got on the board when Kyle Vojack induced Eric Lowri to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored.

Illinois Hawks Collegiate flipped the game on its head in the top of the second, scoring five runs on three hits to take the lead, 7-3. The biggest blow in the inning was a single by Lowri that drove in two.

Illinois Hawks Collegiate added one run in the third. Hayden Hundley singled to center field, making the score 8-3
Illinois Hawks Collegiate tied the game in the top of the eighth thanks to a hit by a pitch, a walk by Dean Alberson, and a sacrifice fly by Tyler Kostro.

Illinois Hawks Collegiate took the lead in the top of the ninth inning after Addison Braves (CSBL) committed an error, Jacob Cronshaw grounded out, and Kostro singled down the left field line, each scoring one run.

Illinois Hawks Collegiate piled up nine hits in the game. Cronshaw, Hundley, and Jimmy Curtis each collected two hits for Illinois Hawks Collegiate. Lowri and Cronshaw were a one-two punch in the lineup, as each drove in three runs for Illinois Hawks Collegiate. Curtis led Illinois Hawks Collegiate with three walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, collecting 13 walks for the game. Illinois Hawks Collegiate turned one double play in the game.
