Our Story

Why Barre Beauty?

After teaching barre in local studios and large barre chains, Gina Gulyan had a much larger vision for Barre Beauty. Although her studio was based around the highly effective, low impact barre style workout, Gina wanted Barre Beauty to feel like a home for people regardless of their physiques or ability levels. She wanted people to feel good about themselves, find friendships, and give their overall health a boost in the right direction.

Ultimately, Gina wanted to help each and every member of her studio find their path to physical and inner well-being. That is what differentiates Barre Beauty from all other barre studios. It is not only the physical results and increased self-confidence gained for all who enter, but also its ability to create healthy habits while providing a sisterhood filled with self-love, worth and strength. Barre Beauty has become a home for women in search of a non-judgmental, intimidation-free gym where they can finally “fit in,” feel secure in themselves, and build friendships.

The Barre Method itself was created around dance positioning in ballet combined with Pilates in effort to work each muscle group to fatigue while burning away calories. Barre workouts create a toned, lean look without the risk of bulking up. Barre can also be used for rehabilitation purposes for any individual, in any shape, at any fitness level. Barre incorporates the use of small weights (2, 3 or 5 lbs. free weights), resistance bands, small medicine balls and body weight into each class to ensure that each muscle group is stimulated in a variety of ways. The endurance that is gained from taking barre classes can create durability and strength as well as open doors for other workout methods. In most cases, clients drop a large percentage of body fat, cholesterol points, as well as improve their BMI numbers tremendously within only a few weeks. The overall health improvement in women, men, young adults and now athletes emphasizes the effectiveness of the barre method. Due to its popularity and overall effectiveness, barre has become a healthy addiction for nearly every individual who has tried it.

When creating Barre Beauty, Gina’s vision was to expose this amazing, highly-effective workout to all by proving to her clients that “healthy is beautiful,” which is more than just an overall appearance. Barre Beauty’s workout can be used regardless of the client’s shape or size and results in losing inches, dropping body fat, decreasing cholesterol points, and most importantly creating and boosting confidence for every client that walks through Barre Beauty’s doors.
