If you’ve been to the 6-12-24 Hour World Time Trial Championships (WTTC), or any other event where Christie Tracy has competed, you’ve no doubt seen the big ol’ Ford Transit van of Team Tracy ATX Sag & Neutral Support. It’s hard to miss with its logos, bank of solar panels on the roof, the neutral support trailer that follows behind it; or its canine mascot, Scooby.

We want to thank the Tracys (and Scooby) for being at WTTC where they helped and supported several racers.

The whole van & trailer set-up is managed by Christie and her husband Jamie Tracy. Jamie is retired from the U.S. Coast Guard and these days spends his time traveling to races, supporting Christie’s racing “Over the past two years we’ve gotten more and more involved in supporting the racers,” he explained at WTTC. “Maybe someone showed up without spare tubes—or sometimes they just need a particular tool. We have an air compressor so we can do tubeless. We can mount tires; clinchers, tubeless, tubular. I’m not an expert mechanic—but I’ve got nearly all the tools. If we can help make people smile, and enable them to race, then that’s a good thing for us.” They recently expanded their resources, “We just added a trailer so that we can separate neutral from our own personal stuff that’s for her,” Jamie said.

“We want everybody to race. So we’ve been looking to our sponsors. We’ve got great sponsors, and they make sure that we have enough for Christie, and then we share the rest and give back to the cycling community even more—Christie runs a 501c3 non-profit for women’s competitive cycling. We’re getting more and more involved as far as being at events and just being there for people. I’m not an expert mechanic—but I’ve got nearly all the tools and am happy to do anything that we can do to help get the cyclists back on the road. If we can help make people smile, and enable them to race, then that’s a good thing for us.”
