This past month I became a board member with Downtown Austin Neighborhood Association (DANA) We advocate awareness, knowledge and conversation for the residents in and around downtown then we work closely with the city council/elected officials to influence decisions on public safety, permitting, and keeping downtown a fun place to live. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
This week, DANA met with the city's Real Estate Project Manager to talk about the 12th and Red River property (you know, the one that just fell out of contract). The city has decided they will KEEP this 1.7 acre property, and they want us, the residents, to give our input on what to do with this site.⁣⁣
I encourage you to use your voice, and SPEAK UP with the link on my profile, the forum is open until September 12th and the city is listening!! What would you like see the city build and use this property for? Low income housing? Gym? Grocery store? TELL them!⁣⁣
