The Open at Austin Disc Golf Championship

VOLUNTEER APPRECIATION BASKET DRAWING

We will give away this "elite tournament experienced" DGA MachX Pro basket to one lucky volunteer who worked at least two shifts at the 2026 Barbasol Open at Austin. Need not be present to win the basket.

We will also have drawings for commemorative discs and a few other items. Must be present to win these other items.

Join us for the drawings followed by the Texas Disc Golf Hall of Fame Class of '26 inductions at Sprinkle Valley Disc Golf Club / Austin Beerworks on Saturday, May 30. Drawing starts at 6:20 PM.

12 years of The Open Disc Golf Championship

The Open DGC was established in 2015 as a B-tier in Woodville Texas to fill in a schedule gap between Texas States and WACO for touring pros. Since then The Open has gone from an A-tier to a DGPT Silver Series and then a DGPT Elite Series. In 2025 the Open became a 4-day DGPT+ Elite Series. Listed below are the winners of the MPO & FPO divisions as well as the Volunteer Of The Year winner (VOTY) - the award you can only win once. As of today every past winner is scheduled to play in the 2026 Barbasol Open at Austin.

Well take a look who was at the Harvey Penick course today after her round at Sprinkle Valley to get some practice in. Sarah Hokum was there during the local play round at Harvey Penick. On Thursday and Friday over 250 players will play this incredible pro course. The Open at Austin is sponsored by MVP as is Sarah.

Here is a fun fact Sarah Hokum was our 2012 FPO World Champion. Come out this weekend and enjoy the day watching disc golf played by 12 World Champions and 11 previous Open winners. Tickets are still available we hope to see you there. 🥏

**MONDAY QUALIFIER RESULTS**
Two MPO spots at The Open were up for grabs this afternoon at Sprinkle Valley Disc Golf Club. Josh Saenz threw a sizzling 62 to out distance the field by a full 5 throws. For the second spot there was a playoff between Matt Barajas and Kyle Krieckhaus. Matt prevailed but Kyle is hoping to get into the weekend sitting at #1 on the waitlist.

Thanks to Bobby Wood for handling the starter duties at Sprinkle.
