Red Ribbon Week: Prevention Matters. Treatment Works. Recovery Is Possible.

Substance use disorders can affect individuals, families, and communities, but treatment and recovery are possible.

Red Ribbon Week reminds us of the importance of substance use prevention, education, and awareness.

Building strong support systems, encouraging healthy coping skills, and having open conversations can help individuals make informed decisions about their health and well-being.

Seeking help is a sign of strength. With appropriate treatment, encouragement, and support, individuals can work toward recovery and a healthier future.

Free Self-Care: Nature Scavenger Hunt!

Self-care doesn't have to cost money!

Spending time outdoors is a simple way to slow down, clear your mind, and reconnect with nature.

This weekend, challenge yourself to a nature scavenger hunt!

Look for different plants, observe animals, and discover something unique in your surroundings.

Taking time to appreciate the little things can support your mental and emotional well-being.

Today is October 22, Lights On Afterschool, a day to celebrate the programs that keep young people safe, supported and growing after the school day ends.

The hours after school can be the hardest for many teens. Without a safe place to go or a caring adult to talk to, some are left alone with stress, peer pressure and bad influences. Afterschool programs give them mentors who listen, healthy friendships, and skills to manage their emotions. These protective factors help youth say no to drugs and grow into emotionally strong adults.

We all have a part to play:
💛 Parents, check in with your child every day.
💛 Teens, find your crowd in a club, sport, or faith group.
💛 Community members, volunteer or mentor.
💛 Leaders, fund programs so every child has a place to go.

Watch for signs that a young person may need support: pulling away, changes in sleep, mood or grades, new friends who push risky behavior, or signs of drug or alcohol use. You don’t have to handle it alone. Inspired Practice is here for youth and familie

Feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or disconnected from the present moment? Take 60 seconds to pause and reconnect with your surroundings.

Try this simple grounding exercise:

👀 Notice:Name 5 things you can see.
🤲 Feel:Notice 4 things you can physically feel.
👂 Listen:Identify 3 things you can hear.
👃 Smell:Notice 2 things you can smell.
💚 Be present:Take one slow, comfortable breath and remind yourself, *“I am here, in this moment.”

You don't have to solve everything right now. Sometimes, the first step is simply slowing down and noticing what's around you.

Remember, grounding is a coping tool, not a cure-all. If it doesn't help right away, that's okay. Try another strategy that feels supportive to you.

✨ Save this post for a moment when you need a little pause.

Stress is a normal part of life, but when it becomes constant, overwhelming, or connected to feeling unsafe, it may be time to seek additional support.

Whether you're experiencing domestic violence, struggling with your mental health, or dealing with bullying, you deserve to feel safe, supported, and heard.

💗 Remember:

Abuse isn't always physical. Emotional, verbal, financial, and digital abuse matter, too.

Ongoing stress can affect your sleep, mood, relationships, and daily functioning.

Bullying is never something you have to handle alone. Reaching out to a trusted person can be an important first step.

You don't have to wait until things get worse to ask for help. If you or someone you know is struggling, consider reaching out to a trusted professional or local support service.

Your safety and well-being matter.

Save this post or share it with someone who may need the reminder.

What does case management actually do?🤔

Case managers help individuals identify their needs, navigate barriers, coordinate services, and connect with community resources that can support their goals. The goal is to meet people where they are and help them access the support they need.

At the same time, case managers have limits. They don’t provide psychotherapy or legal advice, and they cannot guarantee acceptance into a community program. Instead, they work alongside individuals to help them navigate available options and make informed choices. 🤝🩷

Sunday Self-Reflection: Practicing Self-Compassion

We often carry the weight of past mistakes, challenges, and difficult experiences.

Practicing self-compassion means reminding ourselves that we deserve kindness, understanding, and the opportunity to move forward.

Take a moment today to reflect on this question: "What would I tell myself if I spoke with compassion?"

Remember, your past does not define your future.

Give yourself permission to grow, heal, and move forward at your own pace.

This Hispanic Heritage Month, let’s talk about something close to our hearts: mental health care that truly sees us. 🌻

Culturally responsive therapy changes that. It meets you where you are, in your language, with your values and your story at the center. And representation in the therapy room reminds us that healing is possible for us, by us, and with us.

If you’ve been thinking about starting therapy, this is your sign. Your culture isn’t a barrier to healing. It can be a source of strength in it. 💛

📌 Save this for later and share it with someone who needs to hear it.
