Join us Saturday May 9th for Carry the Blues: Austin RUCK N ROLL Society’s First Community Music Walk for Mental Health.

At 9am on the 9th, Austin’s music community will come together to raise awareness of mental health support in our venues, our stages, and our city. Carry the Blues will bring together those who perform, produce and attend the live performances of Austin.

Hosted by the SIMS Foundation, Buzz Mill Coffee, and Squatch Frontier Fitness, the day will blend outdoor movement, music history, live music and community gathering for one shared experience.

We will start at Buzz Mill Coffee on E. Riverside to gather for coffee and to load up a ruck/backpack with weight of your choosing anywhere from 10-50 lbs. Then we will begin the 2.1 mile walk to the Stevie Ray Vaughn statue near Auditorium Shores. Along the way, Raoul Hernandez- longtime Austin Chronicle music writer and University of Texas journalism professor will share the story of SRV, the city that shaped him, and the legacy and fingerprint he leaves behind in Austin today.

At the statue we will take a water break and hang out for a short three song tribute set from an emerging Austin guitarist that will bring the moment to life. Not by photocopying the past but showing what makes this community unique, honor and respect as we innovate.

After the tribute we will head back to the fort to gather together over breakfast tacos, a vendor village and open jam session on the Buzz Mill stage. Squatch Fitness will also be providing cold plunges for recovery.

Carry the Blues is a chance to come together to support. From the musicians, to the sound engineers, the bartenders, the security and the even the fans this is who makes this city feel alive.

In addition raising awareness and money for Sims Foundation who has been serving this community since 1995 by providing mental health care and substance use recovery services. Because behind every set, every show, every late night, there’s a person carrying something and they shouldn’t have to carry alone.

Join us as we come together Saturday May 9th at 9am, click in our bio to grab your spot.

We love our community.

And we’re fired up to spotlight one of our own.

(proud Squatch Frontier Fitness athlete) stepping in to share her gifts with the community and offer something most of us don’t do enough of:

Slow down. Breathe. Recover. Give some love back to your body.

This Sunday at 3:30pm, Jamie is bringing Restore & Reset to Squatch.

A recovery-focused session designed to support mobility, release tension, and encourage deep rest. You’ll move through breathing exercises, gentle stretches, and low-impact mobility work to help your body unwind — all leading into a deeply restorative yoga nidra practice with breathwork and visualization to calm the nervous system and leave you feeling refreshed.

We’re especially putting this out to all our Austin HYROX athletes heading to Houston next weekend — this is a perfect chance to down-regulate and support your body going into race week.

But honestly, this is for anyone who trains hard, feels beat up, or just wants to take better care of their body (which… is most of us).

Free for members.

Community Workout - January 31 | 10:15am

Before there were nations, before there were borders, before there were words for strength or weakness, there was Blood.

Blood is the original connection. It is the red thread that runs through every human being, regardless of background, belief, or station. It carries oxygen and memory. It carries lineage and life. Long before we understood genetics or biology, we understood Blood, that it meant family, survival, sacrifice, and belonging.

Our shared blood says your life matters as much as mine. Here at Squatch we want to celebrate that. That’s why this January, we’re choosing to honor that connection intentionally.

We’ll come together for the Blood Oath Community Workout on January 31 at 10:15 AM.

This month’s community (perk partner) highlight: Radius Butcher & Grocery. Swipe through to read an excerpt from our last newsletter.

One of the things we’re incredibly proud of here at Squatch is our perk partner program and sum zero project built around a simple idea: If you’re already spending money on the things that support your health and longevity, the value from those habits can stack up to cover your Squatch membership.

To make that a reality, we’ve partnered with local Austin brands and businesses we actually use, trust, and believe in.

Our friends over are the real deal. Do yourself a favor and go check them out!

The Greatest Gift

We hear the phrase “health is wealth” tossed around so often that it can start to sound like a cliché.

But the longer I’ve been doing this, and the more people I’ve watched grow older, stronger, tired, injured, healed, or renewed, the more convinced I am that it isn’t a saying at all.

It’s a truth.

Health is what allows us to enjoy the things we work so hard for. It’s what gives us the energy to show up for our families, our friends, and the people who make our lives meaningful.

It’s what allows us to say yes to experiences instead of sitting them out.
Without it, everything else gets smaller.

That’s why I believe the greatest gift you can give yourself, or someone you care about, is the opportunity to be healthy. Not perfect. Not elite. Just capable. Strong enough to participate fully in life.

At Squatch, we don’t see fitness as punishment or performance.

We see it as preparation, for long days, full lives, and the moments that matter most.

Give the Gift of Health

For a one-time $50, you can gift one full month of Squatch membership to someone who is not currently a member.

This offer is intentionally simple, and intentionally limited:

It is only for non-members
It cannot be gifted between current members
It is a one-time opportunity
The goal isn’t to sell a membership.
The goal is to extend an invitation, to movement, community, and a healthier way forward.

How to Gift It

Venmo $50 to the Squatch Venmo (link below)
Set the transaction to PRIVATE
In the notes, include:
The recipient’s name
The recipient’s email
(Optional) Who the gift is from, you or Santa
On Christmas morning, we’ll email them to let them know their Squatch membership is live.

⏳ This offer expires at midnight on Christmas Eve.

No wrapping paper required.

Just a gift that lasts longer than the holidays.

Because health isn’t just wealth.

It’s time.

It’s presence.

It’s being there for the people who matter most.
