Coalition 3 - 4/18/26

Alex and Alyssa were both set to fight last Saturday. Alex coming off a 2nd round stoppage win only a month ago and Alyssa coming off her A-Class win at USMTO last fall.

Alex’s opponent pulled two days before the fight, citing an injury. We hope he gets well enough walk around and get back to training soon. Alex had a potential replacement opponent and we accepted at a higher weight, but after some consideration of actually taking the fight and not just talking about it, his replacement opponent also pulled, leaving Alex with a spectator ticket and the tough, but honest reality of leveling up through camp without the fun of the fight.

Alyssa fought one of the toughest fights of her career in a five round title fight against a well decorated, fast, 9-1 opponent. Alyssa had a goal to take a fight at a lower weight, and she did that gracefully, making weight and carrying herself like a professional thru to the final bell. The fight was a barn burner from start to finish. While we didn’t walk away with the win, Alyssa’s eyes were sharp and she made every adjustment asked of her ringside and in the corner, fearlessly entering the fifth round like a freight train and making sure the crowd remembered her performance; a fantastic and exciting display of Muay Thai and heart in that ring. We don’t take easy fights and Saturday was no exception.

BIG thank you to the promoter and matchmaker for the opportunity, the refs and judges who take the time to understand our sport, fans, sponsors, Messengers in attendance, at home, and in class helping us get prepped. We had an amazing evening! ZERO thanks to the TDLR rep in our corner for being a dick, barking arbitrary/inconsistent demands, and adding stress for the 15 minutes we shared - we are professional, experienced, kind people and you should be too.

Let’s do that s**t again sometime!

Member Spotlight - Moryah aka

- How long have you been training Muay Thai?
I’ve been training for about a year and a half now.

- What is your favorite part of training?
Switch kicks and teeps! What I love most is the accountability in the gym - everyone pushes each other. You can look any direction and see everyone going through the same struggle, and there’s something really beautiful about that. It’s also given me so much confidence. It’s surprised me to realize I’m capable of something this difficult - something I never thought I could do.

- Favorite fighter?
For me, my biggest inspiration comes from the coaches and fighters at TOGTBC. We train alongside them, and they’re actively fighting, so we get to witness firsthand what it takes to step into the ring and give everything you have. At the same time, they’re sharing their knowledge, style, and experience.
Being part of their journey while they’re part of ours is incredibly motivating and inspiring.
Also and . Having them share so many high-level techniques in seminars helps everything click.

- What’s so special about TOGTBC?
It’s such a unique and welcoming place. So many different people come in to train, and even though we’re all different, there’s never negativity toward one another. We support, encourage, and help each other grow.
I’ve made real friendships here - and we get to practice consensual violence daily, which is kind of amazing in its own way.
I feel safe, protected, and genuinely welcomed. And yes, there’s tough love - but it comes from care. You push us to be our best and don’t let us give up on ourselves, even when we want to.

- What do you do when you’re not training Muay Thai?
I love to cook and I’m always trying to get better at baking. I also enjoy shopping for furniture and clothes, swing dancing, singing, and being a plant mom!

- Favorite food to cook and share at the Club?
I’ve recently shared some kofta soup with the gym. I’ve also brought in pasta salad and meat sauce, and soon I’ll be making Puerto Rican rice and chicken, along with dolmas.
(Ed: can confirm, Moryah cooks quite well)

Ragin FC 5 - 3/28/26, Lafayette, LA

Tyler Hill has been visiting TOGTBC for over a year, coming out from his howtown of Lafayette to train when he could get some time away. About five weeks ago, Tyler made the move to Austin full time, and we were happy to welcome him to the team full time here at TOGTBC.

Training hard with the fight team at TOGTBC, he returned back to Lafayette to take a bout last Saturday as the main event in his second Professional kickboxing match. His grit in camp held up beautifully in the ring, his mental state was strong, and he was visualizing the win before even stepping into the venue. Tyler took the evening with a 30-27 unanimous decision win, surrounded by family, lifelong friends and training partners, and a hometown crowd of fans that stayed the evening through to see him perform.

I’d like to thank all the Messengers and Coaches at TOGTBC that helped prep Tyler during his fight camp with us, his family, training partners, and friends back home that showed so much love it warmed my salty heart, and everyone at for putting us on a main event.

Finally, thank you to himself, for the positivity, being coachable, the trust, and having a desire to grow in the sport. I can’t wait to see where you’re going to take it.

Someone get this man a title shot.

Coalition Wildcard 2 - 3/7/26

Five TOGTBC fighters stepped over the ropes to showcase their art this weekend here in our hometown of Austin, Texas and they did not disappoint. Coaches Crystal, Rachel, and Jarrod, and fighters Nick and Alex all put on performances that brought joy to our hearts and lit up the crowd.

We went 2-3 as a team, celebrating the wins and getting right back to learning from the losses. Since the Club’s inception, we’ve always said that easy fights don’t help you grow as an athlete, and Saturday’s matches were no exception. We don’t take easy fights. It was a challenging night as we knew the opponents were high level and bringing their best, two even coming from out of state from our pals (thank you for sharing the ring and making the trip, y’all always bring the heat).

Thank you to the incredible showing from all our members and sponsors at TOGTBC - y’all accounted for more than half of the crowd in the venue Saturday night and it showed; your support and trust mean so much to the fighters and Coaches. Thank you to everyone at Coalition and matchmaker .ambushmt for trusting us to put on some stellar performances and giving our fighters opportunities to grow. Thank you to all our opponents and their respective Camps for bringing us your best in the ring, and the refs and judges for taking on the tough jobs of scoring these bouts and maintaining fighter safety. Finally, thank you to our team of dedicated Coaches in the back with the fighters on Saturday. TOGTBC made up one third of the matches scheduled Saturday night, and without that teamwork in the back, it wouldn’t have been possible.

Bangkok, Thailand - 11/27-12/8/25

Coach Crystal showed up to Thailand fight. Putting on a dominant performance against a tough opponent from Mexico, she went the distance over three rounds, made adjustments, and got the decision win in front of her WBC USA teammates closing out the finals of the international tournament in strong fashion.

I’d like to thank all of our Club members, Coaches, and supporters that put up fundraisers and made donations that allowed this trip to happen; we really couldn’t have done it without all of you. As a result of Crystal’s hard work in camp and her grit in the ring, she earned her spot as the current Southeast Region WBC amateur champion at 105lbs and now qualifies to compete for amateur titles with the WBC.

I’m completely overjoyed for Coach Crystal and the opportunities she relentlessly pursues. We’re just getting started.

USMTO and Elevate - 11/21-11/23/25

For the first time since TOGTBC’s inception almost four years ago, we had concurrent fights in different regions across the US on the same day. As we’ve grown as a Club, Coaches, and fighters, we were able to rise to the occasion with the help of our amazing community.

Austin took the main event at Elevate in San Antonio and walked away as the new 185lb MMA title holder. Looking to showcase a standup fight, his opponent forced a ground fight, which left Austin unbothered, getting his opponent to tap early in the second round.

At USMTO, Coaches Rachel and Jarrod, fighters Alex, Alyssa, and Nick all went out to Mesa, AZ, made weight like pros, put on great displays of technical, hard hitting Muay Thai, and win or lose showed their opponents that TOGTBC shows up to fight. Experience stacked, takeaways gained, confidence grown, they are all ready for the next one. We walk away from the weekend with three wins and Alyssa fighting up in the bracket to take the A Class belt as a B Class fighter.

Congrats to all. And a huge thank you to the Messenger community and Coaches for making these fights possible. Showing up to class, fundraising, sparring, high fiving, making the drive to support, and everything else yall do - it means a lot to our fighters. To the promoters, tournament organizers, matchmakers - thank you for giving our people the opportunity to grow and for providing the platform to showcase our sport.

Let’s do it again sometime. 👊🏼

Member Spotlight - Kellie aka .eillek

How long have you been training Muay Thai?
- For 5 years off and on. I started in 2020 but got into a car accident and herniated two discs in my neck and had to take a break and got back into it full time in 2022 shortly after The Old Guard opened.

What is your favorite part of training?
- My favorite part of training is the physicality. Training Muay Thai is consistently hard but being able to push myself and prove that I can do it is awesome and helps me in many other ways in my life.

Favorite fighter?
- Stamp Fairtex for sure. (Being able to attend her seminar at TOGTBC was incredible.)

What’s so special about TOGTBC?
- EVERYTHING!!! The community, the coaches, the hard work - I’ve met a lot of my favorite people at OG (and continue to).

What do you do when you’re not training Muay Thai?
- When I’m not at OG I also train BJJ (shout out ). I’m a bartender and I run a karaoke dive bar called Ego’s! Besides that, I watch A LOT of pro wrestling and run socials for a local indie wrestling promotion (shout out )

Best blunt ever rolled - you or Kone? 😎
- Ooh I gotta give it to my bestie on this one - I’m the queen of fancy joints but Kone rolls the best backwoods 😎

(Ed: Kellie is an OG amongst OGs. She’s competed in MDL, she’s 1-0 in not taking any s**t from drunk dudes at Ego’s, and she’s just a pleasure to have in the Club as well as a great training partner.)
