In 2025, we gathered for our inaugural SELF-LOVEapalooza™ — a cultural moment dedicated to reclaiming self-love as a practical, embodied act rather than a slogan.

This year, instead of hosting a new event, we’re rebroadcasting that gathering.

Why?

Because self-love is not an annual performance. It is infrastructure. It is capacity. It is the foundation that allows learning, work, repair, and participation to happen without shame.

SELF-LOVEapalooza™ exists to shift culture — to translate lived experience into shared understanding and to remind us that dignity is not earned through perfection.

Love yourself well when persevering and pressing on with purpose by meeting support when it shows up.

Press On With Purpose when expectations push back. Lesson 2: Receive help when it arrives As I hiked, this beautiful Vizsla approached me on the trail. Her owner was not yet in view. I offered my hand in an introduction. After she sniffed it, instead of wandering off she turned to the side and just held her position. I said, "Aww, are you going to let me pet you?" She didn't move so I pet her. Instantly, a deeper sense of calm coursed from my hand through my body. After about two minutes she wandered off without a big to-do. About that time, her owner came into view. I explained that I've been wanting a Vizsla so I become so excited when I encounter one. I thanked him for allowing me to pet her because I needed it. He thanked me for interacting with her.  (FYI this is a stock photo; I was too present to think about taking a photo) The Vizsla didn’t need me to chase her. She approached. She initiated. She offered contact. I accepted and received. Support showed up without me striving for it. Reframe: Perseverance includes allowing yourself to be met. This is especially important after long seasons of self-reliance and loss.

Perseverance is play. Love yourself well thorough adversity with a daily dose of experienced joy.

Perseverance isn’t pushing through. It’s staying present. Pressing On With Purpose is ... stopping in my tracks to giggle at the squirrels... which downshifts my nervous system into neutral, I'm safe mode. Trail Lesson 1: Play before pressure The squirrels weren’t a distraction. They were an invitation. - When expectations feel heavy, play is regulation. - Stopping to observe joy is not quitting; it’s recalibrating. Life is full of uncertain paths, uneven terrain, and hidden endings, and yet the beauty surrounding us along the journey is undeniable. We just have to focus on the task at hand - not the past, not the future, just the present - take the next right step knowing that a place of refreshing, strengthening, and purpose awaits us.
