Tryouts are happening!!
We wish we could have announced sooner, but we had to take time to come up with a solution for those who want to compete with us in September while also allowing time for those who need more of a heads up for things like this.

So, if you would like the opportunity to compete with us in a USARS bout and a WFTDA bout in Phoenix, AZ September 17-18, come to our open practices this Friday and next Friday.

If you want to try out but need more notice and do not wish to compete in Phoenix, we'll announce the Official Tryout dates next week. Final cuts and selections will not be made or announced until all tryouts are completed.

In response to questions about participants under the age of 18: While we may accept participants as young as 14, they will only be accepted if they possess the physical, mental, emotional, and athletic readiness to compete in the adult division of USARS Roller Derby. They would not be able to compete with us under other rulesets, and Violet Crown Roller Derby has no plans currently to arrange Junior division competitions.

Austin's newest competitive roller derby league brought some hardware back home. 5 games and 4 wins over 3 days got us the bronze medal 🥉 As a homegrown team, we are so proud of this accomplishment on a national stage.

Oh, and our very own human highlight reel won tournament MVP 🏆

There's so much more to come from this day, this tournament, and the summer of practice and development that went into us earning a spot on the podium.
