Writing songs on acoustic guitar is akin to breathing for me: I HAVE to do it to survive and maintain my mental & emotional health. Since 1997, I’ve been incredibly fortunate to make a career out of performing & recording my songs. If I woke up one day to discover that I could no longer make a living as a singer-songwriter-guitarist, I’d certainly be saddened & disillusioned, but I’d continue to write songs. I’ve always played guitar for 30 minutes a day at a minimum.

Shooting guns is my passion project and I try to make it to the range at least twice monthly, if not every week.

Be it playing guitar or target shooting, regular practice is essential!

The indictment of former Uvalde police chief Pete Arredondo & former Uvalde police officer Adrian Gonzales on 10 & 29 counts of felony child endangerment is a start.

There are HUNDREDS more officers from various local, state & federal law enforcement agencies who did NOTHING for one hour, 14 minutes & 8 seconds and are also complicit in the massacre of 21 innocent people, nineteen of whom were CHILDREN aged 9-11!!

CCTV footage released from inside the school shows quite a few law enforcement officers standing around with no sense of urgency, cohesion or even will to save INNOCENT DYING CHILDREN AND STAFF!! The cops weren’t outgunned either, I saw at least 3 officers with AR-15s…doing nothing.

Meanwhile outside the police arrested and threatened to tase parents who said “I’m going in to get my child.”

I’m not a parent and cerebral palsy + intractable pain limits my mobility. But if I heard gunshots coming from a school & law enforcement wasn’t there yet or not doing anything, I’d walk or roll toward the shots and engage the shooter with the 9mm pistol which I carry concealed every day.

At best I’d neutralize the threat. At worst I’d pull the shooter’s focus away from the kids & teachers & force him to deal with an unexpected, trained and determined adversary.

I’ve thought about this since I saw the sickening, heartbreaking and enraging CCTV video of the interior of Robb Elementary & saw cops doing NOTHING while CHILDREN were being SLAUGHTERED.

If y’all know me at all, you’re well aware that my willingness to run towards gunshots to protect children is just the truth. It’s what I’d do. It’s what those parents were trying to do, even though they were handcuffed & threatened by law enforcement.

Even though I don’t have kids, protecting children from harm or death is hardwired into me. I thought it was part of the human condition. Sadly it’s not.

If this nauseatingly hypocritical & unconstitutional bill were to become law, “high capacity” (standard capacity) magazines and “assault weapons” like AR-15s, AK-47s + anything else labeled as such would be subject to a 1000% excise tax.

Under H.R. 5135, an AR-15 priced at $750 would end up costing the buyer $7500! An extra 30 round magazine would be $150. A standard 15 round mag for the 9mm I legally carry concealed every time I leave the house would cost me $450-500.

SAY they fight for the poor, working & middle classes. They’ve been exposed as wh**es for their oligarch masters long ago, but this is BLATANT classism, a financial barrier to prevent all Americans save the super rich from exercising a Constitutional right.

The ATF invents & enforces the arbitrary, stupid & unconstitutional gun regulations imposed on civilians. Therefore they have have the highest education about fi****ms safety, right? Nope, a 12 gauge shotgun is pointed in an unsafe direction AND one agent’s loading mags, blissfully unaware of the MP40 sub machine gun pointed at his junk! 🤣 🤯
