Cedar Park, Texas. Wednesday, Jack Malouff stood in front of judges at Austin Christian University and won.

His idea was called Fosterly. An AI tool built for young people aging out of the foster care system. Help with documents, benefits, education, employment. A support network he called My Circle.

People who would not disappear the moment a foster kid turned 18.

Jack was 20 years old and already building something that mattered.

He was preparing to fly to Colorado to compete at the next level.

Then came Friday night at a lake near Austin.

Jack dove from a dock.

The water was not deep enough.

His head hit the bottom.

Friends pulled him out after 30 seconds underwater. He was not breathing. He had no pulse.

CPR brought him back.

But when Jack opened his eyes, he could not move his arms or legs.

Damage to his spinal cord at C2, C6 and C7. All four limbs paralyzed. Doctors preparing him for surgery while warning his family about permanent paralysis and the possibility of needing long-term help to breathe and eat.

Five days ago he was preparing to compete in Colorado.

Today his family is watching his fever and praying for his spinal cord.

The same 20-year-old who built My Circle because he believed nobody should have to navigate life alone now needs his own circle more than ever.

His family is asking for one thing.

Prayer. Daily. Specific.

For the fever to come down. For the surgery ahead. For the day Jack breathes, eats, talks and walks on his own again.
