Congratulations to all who competed over the last four days. Tennessee athletes never cease to amaze.
Asher Oates’ only loss to an in state runner during the cross country season was the most important when he placed runner up in the Class AAA State Championship to Clemons. It goes without saying, he didn’t want to lose again. Takes the 1600m title here with an exciting final lap.

Both are just juniors. Crazy.
Big throws could still be had today if you could keep your balance. Luke Saldana of Warren County nearly matched his PR on his third throw with a 57’ 9.25” to win the Class AAA Shot Put title and then hit the 60’ line here on his fourth but the conditions did not cooperate 🥀
Uncomfortably hot the first three days, non-stop rain the final day.
