Congratulations!!

Exciting news!!!

I'm quickly settling back into my normal day to day life and spent most of the day catching up with work.

In a few week's time the World Kido Federation/Hanminjok Hapkido Association 2026 Korea Trip will start to become a distant memory as life settles back into its normal routine.

One memory that will stand out for a long time though is the inaugural Master Level training seminar that was held on the Wednesday afternoon as the final formal part of the trip. This was a very well received addition to the official trip schedule.

Grandmasters Scott and Steve ran us through a lot of advanced material which really helped me not only get a better understanding of the Hamninjok Hapkido material, but also linkages back to our own New Zealand Hapkido syllabus.

In the photo are some of the best martial artists I have met and it was also great that 6 people at this seminar were members of our New Zealand team!

With the 14th Hapkido Festival and Championship and World Kido Federation Korea trip complete, President Scott Seo and I completed a 90 min meeting to discuss our plans for rest of 2026 and next 5 year roadmap for 한민족합기도협회/Hanminjok Hapkido Association and World Kido Federation/세계합기도무술협회. Amazing conversation and so many things exciting things to put our collective energies into and execute with the strength of our Korea side together with our global organization, we will set the path for the future Hapkido! 1. Korea seminar series
2. Global seminar series spanning 4 continents in 18 months
3. Amateur vs Pro Hapki-Force
4. Technical/Skills evolution and roll out of Buchae Form/부채형, Ki hap hyung 1/2/3, 분해 (form decomposition) and much more
5. Phase 2 of our Digital engagement strategy
6. Planning for physical training facilities to elevate hapkido and competition skill level

제14회 합기도 페스티벌 및 선수권대회와 세계기도무술협회 한국 연수가 성공적으로 마무리된 후, 서성일 회장님과 저는 90분간의 회의를 통해 2026년 남은 기간의 계획과 향후 5개년 로드맵에 대해 논의하였습니다. 한민족합기도무술협회와 세계기도무술협회의 미래를 위한 비전과 방향성을 함께 공유하는 뜻깊고 놀라운 시간이었습니다.
한국 조직의 강력한 기반과 전 세계에 펼쳐진 우리의 글로벌 네트워크가 함께 힘을 모아 실행해 나간다면, 우리는 미래 합기도의 새로운 길을 열어갈 것이라 확신합니다!
