"[Today] will be filled with solemn pride in the heroism of those who died in the country's service and with gratitude for the victory, both because of the thing from which it has freed us and because of the opportunity it has given America to show her sympathy with peace and justice in the councils of the nations."
-Woodrow Wilson, Nov. 11, 1919

'Study Shows Walking May Decrease Risk of Breast Cancer for Women'
The American Cancer Society recently released a study* stating that seven or more hours of walking a week can significantly reduce the risk of breast cancer in women.
Most people already know physical activity can lead to a significant enrichment in our comprehensive health, in women and men alike.
HOWEVER, knowing and doing are two different things.
KinetiCore Fitness would like to encourage the women of Austin to get out this month and walk at least an hour a day. If not for your own personal health, then for the 232,000 women each year that are diagnosed with breast cancer.
Remember, you live in Austin....where a walking adventure is just around the corner!

Today we would like to share a story by Carolyn Lindell, of the Austin American-Statesman. Lindell breaks down the importance of stretching before doing yard work such as gardening.
Especially as individuals age, it is increasingly important to take proactive steps to reduce wear-and-tear on your body, and decrease the risk of serious injury.
"Now [Jenny Stocker] starts each day, on the floor, doing exercises for about 15 minutes. She has new “garden tools” to use, such as a tennis ball, a rolling pin, elastic bands and stability ball. (She’s delighted that most of these items are, coincidentally, green.)"
"We are gardening athletes" -Jenny Stocker
Stretch, exercise to protect the body before gardening Pruning, digging, weeding, shoveling, lifting — gardening can be as brutal on the body as a contact sport.
