All Krav Maga is not the same and most of it isn't even Israeli in lineage from an official instructor who actually trained in Israel. People who seek to learn Krav Maga should know their instructor's lineage within this system that was founded by Imi Lichtenfeld in 1948 and is the official fighting system of the Israeli Defense Forces. Grandmaster Haim Gidon, 10th Dan, appointed as the President of the Israeli Krav Maga Association (IKMA) by Imi Lichtenfeld (founder).

General information

You likely know something about Krav Maga because you found this website or have heard of it from a movie or other source. Of course, Imi Lichtenfeld, who served as the Chief Krav Maga Instructor for the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) until 1968, created Krav Maga in 1948. Shortly thereafter he decided that he would bring Krav Maga to people, "so that we may walk in peace," Imi said. He started a club and association, The Israeli Krav Maga Association (IKMA) in Netanya Israel. He appointed his successor, Haim Gidon. The association members turned out in mass and voted in Grand Master Gidon as President. The IKMA has existed continuously since then and is a small and honest organization. The members have remained humble and not advertised or made big claims as many of the other Krav Maga systems have through the years. Haim Gidon is the only person authorized by Imi Lichtenfeld to promote black belts and make improvements or adaptations to the overall system. Others have made changes, adaptations and many make false claims. The IKMA continues to fight, train and continues on the path of truth.

We train in Israel under Krav Maga's Grand Master, Haim Gidon, in Imi's only club, on his only mat. We travel the world so that our students can get the best and most updated tactics because we teach people how to survive deadly encounters. Many of our students have had to use these tactics in combat, as police officers or to stop a threat as a law-abiding person.
