Let’s get ready for some healthy competition this month! Who is taking gold?

Pain going away is a good sign. It’s not the finish line.

Before clients go back to running, lifting, or their sport, we look at side-to-side strength, how they jump and land, and what happens when they’re fatigued. Then we build from the numbers.

Comment READY and we’ll send you how to book your evaluation.

Getting out of pain is progress. But returning to the things you love requires more than simply feeling better.

Your body needs to rebuild strength, capacity, confidence, and the ability to tolerate the forces your sport demands.

That gap between “I feel better” and “I’m actually ready” is where a lot of setbacks happen.

At AthleX, we bridge that gap.

We don’t just want you back on the court, course, or road.

We want you prepared to stay there.

Pain-free is progress. Ready is the goal.

Adding weight is easy.

The harder part is making sure you’re actually getting stronger at the movement you’re trying to train.

If every increase in load comes with less control, a shorter range of motion, or completely different mechanics, are you really progressing?

Heavy training absolutely has its place. But the goal isn’t just to move more weight.

The goal is to become more capable because of it.

Build the movement. Own the load. Then keep progressing.

What exercise do you see people load too quickly?

The hip thrust is one of our go-to exercises for building strong, powerful hips, but small details in your setup can make a big difference.

A few things to focus on:

• Keep your ribs stacked instead of arching through your low back
• Drive through your feet and use your glutes to extend the hips
• Finish tall without overextending at the top
• Control the weight instead of rushing through each rep

Once you own the movement, start progressively adding load.

Strong hips matter for more than lifting. They help you sprint, jump, change direction, and produce force in your sport.

Save this for your next lower-body session.

Your body works as one connected system. When one area stops doing its job, another often has to compensate. That’s why treating the spot that hurts doesn’t always solve the problem.

The goal isn’t just to calm pain down. It’s to understand why it’s happening so you can build a body that moves better, feels stronger, and stays that way.

Pain is a signal. The source may be somewhere else.

Mobility is important, but it’s only one piece of the puzzle.

Being able to get into a position doesn’t mean you’ll be able to control it when life or sport demands it. That’s where strength comes in.

Whether you’re running, lifting, playing pickleball, golfing, or simply trying to keep up with your kids, your body needs the strength to stay stable through the positions you move into.

Instead of asking, “How flexible am I?” try asking, “Can I control this position under load?”

That’s what helps you move with more confidence, perform better, and reduce unnecessary aches along the way.

Who do you know that never misses a stretching session but skips strength training? Tag them below.

Most people don’t think about aging until something starts hurting.

The truth is, the habits you’re building in your 30s and 40s are shaping the body you’ll have in your 50s, 60s, and beyond.

Strength training isn’t just about looking better today. It’s about making sure you can keep chasing your kids, playing sports, traveling, lifting heavy luggage, hiking, and saying yes to the things you love without your body holding you back.

Every workout is a deposit into your future.

The question isn’t whether you’ll age.

The question is what kind of body you’ll have when you get there.

What’s one thing you want your body to still be able to do 20 years from now?

Most people think deadlifts are bad for your back.

Poorly executed deadlifts can be.

A well-coached trap bar deadlift can be one of the best ways to build a stronger, more resilient body.

The trap bar deadlift is one of our favorite exercises for building strength, power, and confidence.

Why?

✅ Easier to learn than a traditional deadlift
✅ Allows most people to stay in a stronger position
✅ Builds the legs, glutes, and trunk at the same time
✅ Great option for athletes and active adults

The goal isn’t just to pick weight up off the floor.

The goal is to move well, create tension, and develop strength that carries over to real life, sport, and the activities you love.

If you’ve been avoiding strength training because of back pain, previous injuries, or fear of getting hurt, it may be time to rethink what your body is capable of.

Most people focus on pressing the weight up.

We want you thinking about what happens before the bar even moves.

For this variation, we’re keeping the back flat to create better trunk stability throughout the lift.

A stable trunk gives you a stronger foundation to press from, helps maintain control of the bar, and allows you to create more tension through the chest.

As you lower the bar:
• Keep your back flat against the bench
• Brace through your trunk
• Control the descent
• Feel a stretch through your pecs at the bottom

The bench press isn’t just a chest exercise.

It’s a full-body movement that starts with a stable foundation.

The more stable you are, the more force you can transfer into the bar.

Small details. Big difference.

Save this for your next upper body workout. 💪
