Continuing education or core curriculum?

I teach in con ed because it allows the greatest degree of freedom to make the largest impact on those that want to create the practices of the future.

I didn't say it. The mass of massage therapists I keep teaching told me it wasn't.

If I was a mechanic and fixed a car would a mechanic look at me and say that they way that I fixed the car means I'm not a mechanic?

You can fight it. You can resist it. I'm not sure why you don't want quicker better faster cheaper and more acccessible.

Niche down in massage? I see various opinions about this but mostly your niche is to help you build a practice so you can focus on what's most fulfilling for you.

Innovation leads to pushback. If you're not getting pushback then your ideas aren't innovative enough to generate it.

My saving grace is that most people even as a child looked at me askew. "Something is wrong with that kid." I learned to lean into it. I did things like reading books while adults sneered. My parents were supportive enough to allow me to find my own way without much push. I thought and thought freely.

I never thought that the guy who put his head on the table and fell asleep during massage school would one day be told what he's teaching isn't massage. The issue is you gave me another cultural box.

I destroyed it. I thought outside the lines. I kept pushing and clients kept getting better.

Slowly the criticism came. "What you're doing isn't Thai!" Then I was told, "I don't understand what you're teaching isn't massage."

Great! If it's not massage then we don't need licenses in all 50 states. You are currently unable to perform what I teach in its full expression in any massage facility in the U.S. If you did you would likely be fired.

Is it because it's ineffective? Or is it because the massage facility you work at maintains status quo and hammers down the nail that stands out?

I was once fired from a massage job because the "staff" of other Lmt didn't like me. I had 5 star reviews from clients that said it was the best massage they'd ever had. I was pulled into the office and told, "Here at Salon Londyn we're trying to build a team. Sometime the team works and sometimes it doesn't. We're going to have to let you go."

I smiled. I shook his hand and walked out into private practice and never looked back. You see, my one true strength is that when you tell me I can't? I love that. When you tell me it's impossible? I think to myself, "well it'll take 20 years but it's challenging not impossible."

When you critique criticize and say things about me having never met me? I love that. The more you dislike it? The more relaxed I become and calmly keep working to build the future.

Both. Just keep training and studying. The right teachers will find you.

We use tools to assist opening consciousness itself. The body is just the handle.

CE credit yes but mastery takes a lifetime.

I won't continue to let CE credit shift focus of my education and teaching. We're going Beyond. We're creating something new that doesn't exist. You're going to create work that doesn't exist in your community to help your clients.
