We’re excited to launch our Fall Season along with Life Skill: Self‑Esteem — the joy of being myself.
To kick things off, I’m sharing a short interview with the late Dolly Parton, whose passing reminds us how deeply she impacted generations. She had a beautiful way of handling negativity: when someone tried to insult her, she didn’t take it on. She transformed it, upgraded it, and made it her own.
That’s the heart of self‑esteem.
Not perfection. Not comparison.
Just choosing to love who you are and refusing to let anyone else write your story.
Looking forward to exploring this with our students this season. Big thanks to ATA Martial Arts Lakewood for sharing this interview clip and bringing it to my attention.

Summer 2026 Testing Highlights 🌞🥋
Our summer session was packed with growth and excitement! From outdoor training with wooden and ice boards to a fun introduction to the Kummooyeh Gumdo Sword program, our students had fun and also showed ncredible progress on their traditional material. We explored the life skill Respect, learning how it shapes our actions toward ourselves, others, and our community. Class curriculum focused on Songahm 5 and Choong Jung 1, and our recommended black belts and first degrees are already preparing for their next rank test this fall. What a season of strength, focus, and respect!

New Season, New Space, New Habits
With school underway and our Fall Season starting September 1st, this is the perfect moment for students to build strong training habits—especially as we prepare to open our new location. Today’s blog post dives into how attendance cards help kids take ownership of their journey.

Respect isn’t just about how you speak, it’s about the choices you make when no one is watching. On the mat, at school, at home, and out in the community, doing the right thing is how students show respect for themselves and others. It’s the kind of character that lasts long after class ends.
Who isn't interested in building confidence and integrity that shows up everywhere? We have a free trial week so you can see for yourself how these concepts come to life on the training floor.

From uniforms, to schoolwork, to friendships, respect shows up in how we take care of the things that matter. As we prepare our new training space, we're reminded that respect isn't just taught, it's practiced.
Come be a part of a school that builds responsibility from the ground up.

Respect doesn't stop when class ends. It follows our students into school, home, and the community. Doing the right thing (even when no one is watching) is real martial arts strength.
Try a class (on us) and help your child grow into a leader.
