Austin's Fittest Community. Enlighten Your Fitness. CrossFit Lumos was founded in 2016 to bring a world class fitness community to Austin’s East Riverside area.
We built Lumos to be a safe and welcoming environment where we could share our love of functional fitness and teach it in a thoughtful and well-designed manner. At Lumos we believe in virtuosity- “doing the common, uncommonly well”- and our format is designed to build a strong foundation in basic movement patterns upon which we progressively layer new skills and challenges. We train our athletes t

The Austin Spartan Race is just under a month away! Who’s in?! Our Hybrid class just turned their focus to prepping for this style of race with long conditioning pieces and odd object work. So if you’re on the fence, now’s the time to commit and end up with these kinds of smiles pre and post race^ 😄

One week left to try out our Infinite 50+ Class fo free! While we think it’s best to try out a class for real, here’s a lil sneak peak. Being around likeminded people, working on positions, balance, strength, and coordination are all ways to live a longer and stronger life. Come see for yourself Fridays at 9am!

Hate to break it to you… but our coaches are always watching 👀 but the difference at Lumos is that it’s safe to be seen.
Our coaches want you to both try and mess up in front of them, with the promise that they’ll pull you back up and through those tougher moments.
And welp, if it’s not obvious in some of these pics, they might be celebrating your wins harder than you do 😂
Sometimes the simplest challenges create the biggest shifts.
The kids have been doing “dball” over the shoulder for weeks, but would often lose focus and control when the ball would roll away after each rep. We added one small guardrail of keeping the ball within the bands and almost everything improved. Focus, intention, reaction time, control..
What types of “guardrails” could you implement to a project (or shall we say, movement in the gym) that’s not progressing the way you want it to right now? 🤔 How might tightening up your inputs change the outcome? 🤔🤔

Our hybrid squad has been stacking reps, building their engines, and putting in work for months.
Time to cash in 💰 it’s Peak Week!
Houston, they are coming for you!
A little behind the scenes montage showing the type of community you’ll find at Lumos. People who will stand beside you whether it’s pouring rain or a blazing sun; coaches who get more stressed about your event than their own; and friends who will throw you a Podium celebration in the hotel because the official one gets cancelled due to Thunderstorms.
Speaking of, huge congratulations to . He’s been training to make it to Wodapalooza for 5 years. Not only did he make it this year, but he came home with a 3rd place medal 🥉 👏
