To the Mav Football Players, WE SEE YOU!
The last three months have brought a lot of unexpected change. With two head coaches moving on in such a short time, and with another on the way, we know the uncertainty feels heavy.
You have put in the work. Every early morning and late night lift, and every grueling practice session counts. You have GIVEN YOUR ALL to this program and we want you to know that your dedication is recognized. If you feel like the ground is shifting beneath your feet, please hear this: You are not alone.
The McNeil Football Booster Club and the entire community see your determination and your commitment. Your EFFORT defines this team more than any coaching change ever could. It is important for you to remember that the Mavs Football Program is the HEART & SOUL of the McNeil Community.
While transitions happen, remember that GREAT TEAMS ARE ALWAYS PLAYER LEAD. Use this moment to be ready for whatever shows up. Not just in football, but in everything.
We are working hard behind the scenes to ensure you have everything you need. We are doing everything in our power to make things right and to provide the stability you have EARNED.

Principal Dr. Mack Eagleton has announced that Coach Jonathan Cruz has resigned from the district and will no longer serve as Head Football Coach and Athletic Coordinator.
We understand there may be questions regarding this transition. Dr. Eagleton will be hosting a meeting to discuss relevant topics and provide as much information as possible.

Calling all Mavs parents! The Booster Club's annual officer election meeting is scheduled for Monday, March 30, at McNeil's New Lecture Hall. This is your chance to get involved, make a difference, and meet our new Athletic Director and Head Coach, Jonathan Cruz. All parents of current players are encouraged to attend and eligible for nomination, so spread the word to current 8th-grade parents and beyond!
What an incredible season! MavNation sends a huge shoutout to our winter 2025-2026 teams for their tireless efforts: Boys/Girls Basketball, Girls/Boys Soccer, Swimming, Diving, and Wrestling. Varsity receiver. State-qualifier wrestler. Ballplayer.
Chance continues to prove that hard work travels. From Friday Night Lights, to grinding on the mat and the weight room, to putting in the work on the ball field and in the cages, he competes with toughness, discipline, and heart every single time.
Qualifying for state in wrestling is no small feat, and it’s just another example of the dedication he brings to everything he does.
