Get your work, folks!

Photos from Of The Lion Fitness's post 02/28/2020

I hear so many people talking about wanting to be in better health, or be better at their jobs or better as a parent, etc. Yet rarely does their work ethic match their ambitions.

Chris showed up with a mission and continues to put the work in each and everyday. No excuses, only work. Regardless of where you are physically and mentally right now, you can make a change but you have to take action.

Hey everyone! I know I've been absent here lately and it's 100% because I had no direction with what I wanted to share here.

My focus recently has been on the growth of OTL as well as the podcast. The Lions Roar podcast is now: Garage Gym Start up

I'm very excited about the transition as now I get to talk to an audience I love, other gym owners starting from nothing. I want to help others as best I can. The podcast Is advice as well as documentation of our journey.

The new page is Facebook.com/garagegymstartup

If you have a chance please check it out!!

I'm going to take everyone back to the building Of The Lion Fitness before it was even OTL Fitness. And this first video is gold.

Since I've always been a video guy, of course I have a video of me putting together my first ever garage gym.

This was the start. I'd just quit my job as a personal trainer at Texas A&M Rec becauseI they asked to stop taking people into the sand volleyball courts to run sand sprints...Uh, what?

This is video one of a long re-documenting I will be doing of everything, up to today and beyond. Let's do this....

I've been doing a lot of reflecting this morning on how far we've come with Of The Lion Fitness and the places we still plan on going.

Owning a business isn't easy. I never took a business class in college but always knew this is what I would be doing.

We've built and continue to build this business around authenticity, love for people and and providing as much value as possible.

Here's a quick look back to the start and to looking ahead to the future.

Still practicing that planche! Using sliders for this one. If you've got the planche hold, feet off the ground and legs parallel to the ground, let me know if you have tips!

Friday was a recovery day for me. I did a wide range of movements from single arm press, Tricep pull downs, handstand holds, lunges, squat jumps and more. I kept everything light, and heart rate relatively moderate. Not everyday needs to be crushing. Really, I only hit a really tough workout 1-2 times per week. The rest is built on technique and moving correctly.

Band assisted planche practice. Hernia surgery gave me a new perspective on my training, and new objectives to hit. This movement is definitely one of them!

Had some fun yesterday with Coach Travis and his Barbell Breakfast Club at OTL trying some anyway both hands over head! Training is all about trying new things, testing your body and having fun!

In June I will be doing The Texas Water Safari on a team with a few other gentlemen. The picture is a short description of the race. Sounds a bit dramatic to me, but I have no idea what the hell I am doing. I will be sure to update you all as training goes on!

Another Podcast episode is up! The Lion's Roar, Episode 6 goes into Self Awareness and how it can help you find your niche as a coach/gym owner. Remember, just because you love it, doesn't mean you're good at it!
