The work got done!


When training athletes that play a sport(s) year around training has to be flexible. Knowing their schedules and habits can help quite a bit with programming. When we have open pockets (no tournaments, extensive practices) we will push it a little bit to chance some strength gains, but for the most part it’s about maintaining strength, staying mobile and durable.


We want our athletes to be able to perform at the highest level and as consistently as possible.


Yesterday we tested our bench press and hex bar squat.


Bench press not 🎥:
E: 95lbs
Iman: 95lbs


Hex bar squat 3 reps:
E: 200lbs
Iman: 210lbs

RDL tutorial….


Give me your thoughts.


A couple cues you might not know:
1. Back engaged think of your shoulder blades pulling in towards the middle of your back. It’s almost like your shoulder blades are trying to squeeze your spin!

2. Hamstrings cut off or end range means your hamstring can no longer stretch so now to get lower you start trying to bend at your lower back. We want to avoid that.

3. Braced core simply put imagine someone trying to punch you in your stomach or side and you tighten or engage to soften the punch!

3 simple ways to enhance your exercises while staying in the framework of a class!


1. Add more reps
2. Add more weight
3. Play with the tempo


Some days you won’t feel like lifting heavy—and that’s okay. It just shouldn’t be every day. We get it; sometimes the energy just isn’t there. On those days, you can add a few more reps. And if you don’t want to do that either, slow the tempo. Increasing time under tension (TUT) can still create a strong stimulus for strength and progress.
