Had a great weekend of racing at Buffalo Springs Ironman 70.3 in hot and trying conditions. Everyone suffered and I couldn't be more proud of them.
Dane Shaw finished 4th in the 35-39yr age group.
Quincy Arey finished 4th in the 30-34yr age group.
Aaron Shapley finished 8th in 45-49yr age group.
One and a half weeks ago Padre Mora raced over in Ireland at IRONMAN Ireland. He couldn't finish the bike in what was the exact opposite of conditions compared to Lubbock. Not many people know what he went through just to even make it to the start line after having a little mishap on the bike a few weeks before. For Padre to pull out it must have been tough and he must have been hurting because he never complains about anything!!
Looking forward to some more great results coming up from all my athletes!

It's been a great start to the year for all my athletes. I'm not a big social media guy but all of them have trained their hearts out day after day, week after week, month after month to reach their goals. Fitting in their training long with their work and family life is tough and i don't know how they do it. I take my hat off to them. I'm so proud of them for everything that they do. We've only just made it to may and just starting the triathlon season and already we've had some great results!
- Zach ran a PR at the Chevron Houston Marathon and in the process getting a qualifying time for the Boston Marathon
- Alan Smith ran a PR at the Austin Marathon and in the process finished 3rd in the Austin Distance Challenge
- Brandi Grissom Swicegood has been racing like a woman possessed. She won her age group at IRONMAN 70.3 Campeche, was 2nd at IRONMAN 70.3 Texas, competed at the Boston Marathon and then rounded it all out with a 2nd in her age group and 3rd overall at Challenge Cancun to qualify for her professional license!! She's my second athlete to qualify for her pro license after Haley Koop did it last year at IRONMAN 70.3 Waco. Hard work and dedication does pay off!
- Carlos A Gonzalez Villarreal had a great race at IRONMAN 70.3 Texas and is now looking to qualify for IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship at Ironman 70.3 Monterrey next weekend.
- Padre Mora headed west to race at IRONMAN 70.3 Oceanside and threw down like he always does. He's now looking to conquer IRONMAN Ireland
- CP Ross and Carlos Kempff both got struck down by the weather at IRONMAN 70.3 Texas but trained their hearts out and will be back at their next races.
- Aaron Shapley finished 2nd overall age group male at The Rookie Triathlon today
- Al Gawlik finished 2nd in her age group at The Rookie Triathlon
- Haley Koop is recovering well and will be back bigger and stronger very soon!!
Look out for Quincy Arey who is coming to a race near you very soon!

I always tell my athletes to do what I say not what I do. The old barndog 1-2 swim stroke isn't pretty but it's effective! 🤣 Aqua Sphere 📸 Matt Lieto
