Every stripe. Every promotion. Every single one is earned. 🎉

Congratulations to all of our students that earned stripes tonight 🥋 We were also lucky to have Coach Chris in the house to witness these promotions! Shout out to Coach Chris for visiting us!

We know what went into this and your hard work is showing. Thank you to all of the parents that support your kiddos.

The kiddos earned it and the entire AMP BJJ family — Northwest Hills, Cedar Park, Westlake, and Baton Rouge — couldn’t be prouder. ❤️

While Professor Anthony was in Baton Rouge holding it down with our BR crew, I got to spend the week at AMP BJJ Cedar Park with his family — and what a week.

This group is something special. The kids show up, work hard, and bring the kind of energy that makes coaching the best job in the world. You feel the community the second you step on the mat.

Anthony's built something real here, and watching it grow has me fired up for what's ahead.

Real talk: summer schedules are a mess. 😅

Kids are home. Sports are off. Vacations blow up every routine you worked hard to build. Most parents are just trying to make it to September. 😬

Here’s a better plan. 👇

Train Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu together — as a family. 🥋

$299 covers your WHOLE family at AMP from May 15 through August 15. Parents, kids, teenagers. One pass. One price. No asterisks. 💪

And here’s what we hear from parents all the time:

“I didn’t think I’d like it. Now I’m the one dragging the kids to class.” 😂

Summer chaos → family tradition. That’s the move.

Spent the week on the mats with our BR crew and walking away fired up. Every class — kids, teens, adults — the room is louder, the technique is sharper, the community is tighter.

Proud of this team. Just getting started.

The belt around your waist is not just a rank. It is a record of everything you went through to earn it. 🥋

⬜ White Belt — You walked in knowing nothing and came back anyway. That took courage.

🔵 Blue Belt — The panic faded. You stopped surviving and started thinking.

🟣 Purple Belt — Your jiu jitsu became yours. You started giving back what was given to you.

🟤 Brown Belt — You have been through everything the mat can throw at you. And you are still here.

⬛ Black Belt — Not the end. The beginning of everything you still have left to learn.

———

Whatever belt you wear today — we see you. We are proud of you. And we are honored to share this mat with you. ❤️

What does your belt mean to you? Tell us in the comments 👇

🎗 Today is World Cancer Day. And for our AMP BJJ family — this one is personal.

AMP BJJ was co-founded by Chas Spence, and his family’s journey is one that has deeply shaped who we are as a community.

Chas’s son, Callan Spence, is a two-time survivor of synovial sarcoma — one of the rarest and most aggressive forms of cancer. As a teenager, Callan was told his tumor was inoperable. After relentless searching, research, and refusing to accept “no,” he underwent a complex 10-hour surgery and advanced proton radiation that led to No Evidence of Disease.

Out of that fight, Chas and Callan didn’t just move on — they turned their experience into a mission to help others.

They started Spence Family Synovial Sarcoma Fund to raise awareness and funding for research, clinical registries, and better treatment options for families facing this rare cancer.

Black Flag Sarcoma Racing was also launched to raise awareness and every lap on that race track is driven by the same mindset we teach on the mats:
Keep going. Don’t quit. Fight for each other.

On World Cancer Day, we honor Callan’s courage, the Spence family’s mission, and every family fighting this battle right now.

If you’d like to learn more or support the cause, please consider donating to synovialsarcoma.org.

❤️ From our AMP BJJ family to yours.
