What does IPEMA certification mean?

IPEMA’s third-party certification program helps customers verify that playground equipment meets applicable ASTM F1487 and/or CAN/CSA Z614 requirements. For equipment manufacturers, TÜV SÜD America validates the manufacturer’s certification of compliance with those standards.
We’re pleased to share that Lappset Sona 290100 and Lappset Memo 290500 are now listed as IPEMA-certified products, bringing added confidence to the planning and specification of public play environments.

Forests mean life, balance, and connection, and they inspire everything we create.
“We use renewable and traceable wood to create sturdy and long-lasting products,” says Maarit Pyykkö, Head of Quality & Sustainability at Lappset.

In Finland, slow-grown northern pine (Pinus sylvestris) becomes a durable foundation for play and movement. Finnish forests are sustainably managed: for every tree felled, two to three seedlings are planted, helping forests stay healthy for generations.
Healthy forests store carbon, regulate water cycles, prevent erosion, and support biodiversity, making them essential in combating climate change.
Most Finnish forests are certified under the PEFC scheme, ensuring responsible and traceable wood sourcing. At Lappset, this sustainably responsible wood becomes long-lasting play, fitness, and social spaces that bring people together.

🌷 Spring is here, and the outdoors is calling.

Longer days and warmer light invite us all to step outside, move freely, and reconnect. For children, spring opens the door to adventure, exploration, and joyful play in nature.
That’s exactly what we embraced at Burnside Farms in Virginia, a custom-designed playground inspired by the farm’s own blooming identity. Together with the Burnside team, we brought tulips, sunflowers, and imagination into a vibrant play space where nature and design grow hand in hand.

Because outdoor play isn’t just fun, it supports wellbeing, encourages creativity, and strengthens community. This spring, let’s make space for every heartbeat to move, explore, and bloom.

Some spaces pass us by. Others ask us to stay. Whether it's a pause in the shade, a casual conversation, or a quiet moment to yourself, with the right design elements, a public place becomes something more.
Momentum is more than furniture. With a modular approach and timeless design language, it offers opportunities to enhance social interaction, comfort, and flow. For those who design not just for function, but for feeling.

Today, we celebrate every woman shaping a more inclusive world, one heartbeat, one bold idea, one leap forward at a time.
From those who dream of playgrounds where every child feels safe,
to those who build bridges, no one else saw the need for.
Your work lives in the spaces between.
In the joy of movement. In the dignity of access.
In the strength it takes to imagine better, and begin.
We believe in environments that support everyone’s well-being, and that includes empowering women across generations and roles.
Let’s continue to create spaces where all voices are heard. Where every child, every adult, and every community can thrive. Together, let’s build a future where inclusion isn’t an idea, it’s the design.
Happy International Women’s Day.

Through thoughtful innovation and long-lasting materials, we help communities protect their resources and ensure that today’s spaces become tomorrow’s treasures.

This Valentine's Day, let's celebrate connection in every form!
From shared laughter on a swing to the quiet bond between generations, our environments are designed to bring people closer, through movement, imagination, and play.
Because love isn’t just flowers and hearts. It’s the joy of togetherness, the freedom to belong, and the spaces where everyone feels welcome.
This Valentine’s Day, let’s keep building places where friendships blossom, memories are made, and every heartbeat matters.
