🩵 SAVE THE DATE! JKP 2027! 💙
The 5th Anniversary JUST KEEP PLAYING Memorial 7v7 Soccer Tournament is confirmed for 2027 and will be a celebration like no other.
📅 Saturday May 22, 2027
📍 Onion Creek Soccer Complex - Austin, TX
⚽️ Registration opens October 14, 2026
Just Keep Playing - or JKP - is a pickup style 7v7 soccer tournament that started in 2022 to honour the memory of our friend Jonathan Kyle Patterson and has become a special tribute for all friends and teammates we carry with us. We spend this day together, playing the game that connects in celebration and love.
All proceeds from the tournament benefit - a leading sports-based national nonprofit powered by soccer as the driver in breaking the cycle of poverty through free, community-based programs, mentorship and supportive services that help youth and their families in marginalized neighborhoods build life skills, confidence, and leadership. SSUSA delivers specialized outreach and inclusive programming designed to empower participants, helping them discover their strengths, achieve their goals, and expand opportunities.
With JKP there’s something for everyone! You can play, volunteer or spectate. Visit www.justkeepplaying.org for more information.
And always, JUST KEEP PLAYING. 💙

There’s a lot of lore around the origins of St. Patrick’s Day, but I’m sharing because this Irish holiday was a way for immigrants to celebrate their heritage and pride together as they started new lives and families here in the US. What I love about our “American melting pot” of cultures is that each maintains a foundation in its beautiful traditions, and also beams colourfully and echoes loudly as we share and celebrate them with each other, creating new rituals together with love and respect for the kaleidoscope of where we come from, who we are and what our strengths contribute.
As we continue to amplify love an kindness, and fight hate…
May your teams be filled with laughter,
May your matches be filled with goals,
And may you have all the happiness,
Your ACSA hearts can hold.

These lovable hooligans brought the kindness, respect, shenanigans and skillz you would expect from any ACSA y’all star team. And they won the whole damn thing yesterday (2nd Annual St Paddy’s Day Showdown Mixed Division)!
Your ACSA LUCKY CHARMS.
And they are definitely not yelling expletives to who had to leave early (but seen in the second team photo).
*your Kilted Y’all Stars won in vibes and shots (non-soccer).
Let’s do it again next year and !

Whether your Valentine’s Day is spent slapping each other with animal hides, defying the government, observing bird mating rituals, dinner with your sweetie, gorging on chocolate, all or none of these - we can thread the many origins and traditions of this day with a powerful thread - LOVE.
Love for ourselves, love for each other.
Above all the chaos and discord, we love you and hope you enjoy this rainy, cleansing day of love.

What we’re seeing in Minneapolis and what we’ve been witnessing recently at the hands of ICE is unconstitutional, horrifying and immoral, but unfortunately it’s not new. Communities of colour, LGBTQ+, women and non-Christian religions have been fighting systemic oppression and discrimination for, well, a really long ass time – tirelessly and painfully day in and day out – but this is not a history lesson. This is a reminder, and by now it should be no surprise.
Yes, we’re a soccer league. There have been a vocal few who have reminded me of that over the years and I’ll share here what I say to them.
Correct. We ARE a soccer league. We show up at Onion Creek on Saturdays, play affordable, competitive and fun soccer in a welcoming and safe space with players of all skills, cultures and genders. We can build connections and friendships, some find love and build families, or we can simply get exercise - up to you. As long as what you choose DOES NO HARM, As far as leagues go, I think we’re pretty great.
And guess what, all of that happens (the soccer, the safety, the friends, the fun, the workout) because we are actually more than just a great league – we are a vibrant soccer community that works hard to dismantle oppressive systems, inspire change and make this world a better place for everyone. All the time.
So here’s the reminder – we are ALWAYS against inhumanity and injustice whether we issue a formal statement or not because the reality is that it’s happening more often than most realize. We will ALWAYS support, protect and celebrate the diversity of our amazing community.
Always. xo
