Moral of the story: Send. the. message 💌
If your team doesn’t make you uncomfortable, you got the wrong people around you.
One of the things I learnt from founders like and is to capture more of the journey.
When I first started GymGoer, I never thought l’d also be a content creator. But this year is on not going to let it slide.
She’s now recruited other people on the team to bully me into getting in front of the camera more.😅
Is it uncomfortable? Yes.
Is it still the least favourite part of my week? Yes.
But will I stop showing up? No way.
Here’s to doing more uncomfortable things, who knows maybe I’ll be your favourite gym influencer by the end of the year🫥
PS. what I do love is documenting the process - the speed of change in startups never ceases to amaze me!
This vlog was finalised only a couple of weeks ago, and now we’re gaining huge momentum in another direction. More to come soon🫡
America truly changed me.
Having just got back from Austin, my plan for the next 6 months had just been flipped on its head.
And now? We’re pivoting fast, with a mid year deadline.
The whole team is working hard and in stealth mode for now…
But soon, we’ll share what we’re cooking up.

Reminders, use what you need to keep showing up for yourself this week🧡
How would you have answered these?
hits the streets again…wonder where you’ll see us next👀
Biggest things that changed since becoming a founder.
As a startup things are constantly changing, and I’ve always wanted to share the process of building GymGoer, as much as possible.
There are some announcements that I’m excited to share with you soon👀
In the meantime: onwards & upwards.

How would you rank these?
We hit the streets and we want to know the good and the ugly when it comes to training!

“Ryan, how do you deal with tall poppy syndrome in Australia?”
This past week, I flew to Austin and met one of the advisors in person. Our days right now are a blend of investor meetings, networking events, and introductions to people who actually move things forward.
I have to admit...you can definitely feel a difference. Startup culture in the US is built around backing ambition, connecting the right people and building momentum.
So where does that leave founders building in Australia?
Well, when I was asked about tall poppy syndrome in an interview, I had a chance to really think about it...and here’s what I believe:
If you’re working toward something meaningful, and you have a mission that you believe will make the world better, the right people will get around you.
They’ll back you. They’ll connect you. They’ll fund you. They’ll support you.
Not everyone...because for every 30 voices that doubt (or ignore) your ambition, there might be one that believes.
But that one?
That’s where I put my energy towards.
Tall poppy syndrome might be real. But if it’s not going to stop me from doing the work anyway…
I’d rather focus on what moves me forward.
