Oh Dolly! 🤍 🕯️

Growing up dirt poor in the hills of East Tennessee, Dolly loved horses more than anything like most of us.

She shared a story on many of her great interviews about how her uncle playfully tricked her into believing she could grow her very own pony by planting “pony seeds” in the dirt. 🌱 💦 🐎

Dolly faithfully watered the spot every single day where she lay the “seeds”…waiting for a miracle to sprout. While a horse never grew from that soil, of course, an unstoppable, lifelong love for them did. Then she went on to carry that confident spirit of hers through a legendary life of music, unmatched generosity, and grace.

At the Riding Club of Austin, we are reflecting on her words today. May we all carry a bit of Dolly’s iconic show pony brilliance, backed by the heart of a true workhorse. 🐎 ✨

Rest in peace, Dolly. Your light will never fade. 🕊️✨
