💚 The essence of life is within.
“Internal energy, the essence of life, it moves inside us, flows through our bodies, gives us power from within.”
Tai Chi teaches us to become more aware of what is happening inside our bodies—not by forcing movement, but by learning to relax, breathe, and move with intention.
With daily practice, that awareness can deepen. We begin to feel that Tai Chi is about more than learning movements. It is a lifelong journey of discovering the connection between mind, body, and inner energy.

☯️ True strength is built quietly.
“If we practice diligently, in time we will be able to cultivate an invisible but powerful undercurrent of strength.”
Tai Chi teaches us that strength doesn’t always need to be visible. Through patient, consistent practice, we develop balance, stability, awareness, and an inner strength that gradually becomes part of who we are.
We may not notice the changes from one practice to the next. But over months and years, those small improvements add up. Another good reason to practice a little Tai Chi today.

☯️ Every movement creates more than a shape.
“Think of each movement in the form as a sculpture in time and pay attention to the negative space that the body occupies and moves through as much as the body itself.”
— Maggie Newman
I love this because you begin to move beyond the contained shape of the form and become aware of the space around you. This is where the deeper discovery begins.
Daily practice gives us the time to notice these subtleties. The more familiar the movements become, the more we can explore what exists beyond simply remembering the external movements.
💬 What do you notice now in your Tai Chi practice that you didn’t notice when you first began?
